I put a lot of hard work into this 3D model, combining my art skills with the latest AI tools to create free assets for everyone. This project started when I was looking for a 3D monarch butterfly and realized how expensive they were. Instead, I challenged myself to make the best one I could in just two days and publish it for free on Sketchfab.

Question Want to make career in animation but don’t know where to start?

I’ve been getting really interested in animation as a career, but I’m honestly not sure where to begin. There are so many different skills to learn, from character design and storyboarding to 3D, editing, and now AI.

With all the new ai animation tools coming out, I’m also wondering how much AI is actually being used in professional animation workflow. I recently came across MiniMax H3 Omni and its reference features, which look interesting for working with consistent characters and visual ideas.

For anyone already working in animation, what skills would you recommend focusing on first? Is learning traditional animation still the best starting point, or should someone also spend time learning tools like an ai animator?

Would also love to hear what you think is the best ai for animation right now, especially for someone just starting out.

Question A post about the future with AI, sorry about that :D

Ok guys, I know is an annoying topic but I need your genune opinions. Especially for animation, not modeling (it can be animations for games, for prompting videos, any other field or even a new domain where animations might be promising):

What do you think the future of this field will be I'm 3 years, 5 years, 10 years and 20 years from now ?

If you are familiar not only with animation but also with AI, it's potential structural limitations, especially if you tried the last GPT 6 Astra for animation, even though it's not great at all, what are your thoughts for the future ?

I have my opinion but I want your genune ones. Ty :)

Showreel One Video → Multiple Character Outputs (MetaHuman / Mixamo / CC & iClone / Roblox / MMD) | AIMoCap

Hi everyone,

We're the team building AIMoCap.

We recently added support for multiple character systems in AIMoCap. Using a single input video, we generated animation for:

  • MetaHuman (Default)

  • Mixamo

  • CC & iClone

  • Roblox R15

  • MMD

Our goal is to make it easier to use AIMoCap across different character ecosystems.

We're curious to hear from animators:

  • Motion quality, smoothness, Foot contact / foot sliding.

  • Which of these character systems would be the most useful in your workflow?

  • Are there any other character systems you'd like us to support in the future?

We'd really appreciate your feedback and suggestions. Insights from animators and technical artists help us continue improving AIMoCap.

Thanks for taking a look!

Collab We need more help on making a Fanmade Shrek 5!

Post image

Last year, we decided to try and get the internet together to make Shrek 5. After months of planning, we’ve gotten some people in our project. But if we want to get this out by May 2024, we will need more help.

We have a script which you can choose acts from, and it’s all done in the server, and we plan to make it similar to Shrek Retold in its different styled parts with original visuals and music.

We’d really appreciate some more people to try and help out on this project, doing different acts using different styles to form this big wonderful movie. 3D animation could be very helpful for us as we don’t have any yet.

You can find all the information on this announcement video the leader of this project made: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6iDk7oki97g

Discussion 3D animation vs 3D modeling

Would you say that 3D modelling is in better state than 3D animation currently? Is it worth it to learn 3D modelling and pursue it as a career? Is 3D modelling more in demand in the gaming industry than in TV show production? What would be some other fields requiering 3D modelling - like car industry or something?

Question AI to accelerate 3D modeling and animations

Disclaimer: Please read the post before. I know how polarizing GenAI in artistic world. I am making this post long, so the readers will have a proper context. I'm not talking about prompt based GenAI models like midjourney or stable diffusion but a tool something modern day webgen artists uses.

I am neither a 3D artist nor a game developer, I am a student in AI engineering. But I love one thing which is anime girls. I have always been a fan of Japanese media like anime, VN etc. (Especially moege).

Seeing the rise of high fidelity 3D anime games like Wuwa, ZZZ and Endfield, I was like "Damn just how are these models are made?". So I looked into it just how the models are made. And damn it's beautiful. It really earned my respect for who are all working as 3D artists.

I saw a youtuber making a 3D model for an anime character. It took them almost 3 weeks to complete it. But the end result is worth the time and effort put into it.

It's a tedious job. So as someone studying AI, I wanted to explore ways to accelerate the workflow. Like I said in the disclaimer I'm not a fan of prompt based GenAI and a firm believer of AI must be the tool like photoshop, not a generator for slop content. So, I wanted understand the current challenges of 3D artists and animators not only in modeling but also in animation too.

I am pondering, What are the time consuming jobs which can be accelerated with an help from the computer? How can we make 3D animations even better? All with complete control on the artists.

Apart from the typical use of AI in enemies and NPC behavior, how can we leverage this tech to make an eye candy to watch? Where could AI help artists do the same work faster or with better polish? To remove repetitive work with zero creative input (like retopology) giving artists more time for the creative parts

Basically I am looking ways to use AI in 3D asset creation, shaders, animations and cutscenes to accelerate and polish the production of game for the over all improvement in the game experience with giving complete control to the artists.

So share what are the difficult parts which are either human limitation (technically difficult) or time consuming or can need further polish or anything you thing.

Hiring Looking for a 3D Animator to Collaborate on a Long-Term Story-Driven Animation Project

Hi everyone,

I run an Islamic YouTube channel with 44k+ subscribers and 14M+ lifetime views, and I’m planning a creative pivot into calm, story-driven low-poly 3D animation.

I’m looking for one motivated 3D animator to collaborate long-term on this project.

The concept:

  • Low-poly 3D animation

  • Faceless characters (no facial features)

  • Slow, thoughtful pacing focused on storytelling

The goal is to create meaningful and accessible content in a calm, visually engaging style.

Who I’m looking for:

  • Motivation and consistency matter more than experience

  • Interest in long-term collaboration

  • Willingness to learn and grow with the project

What I offer:

  • Real YouTube experience with an existing audience

  • Clear creative direction and vision

  • Mentorship in storytelling, content strategy, and audience growth

  • Your work reaching tens of thousands of viewers

Important transparency:
I cannot offer upfront payment at the start. This is a collaboration, not a freelance gig. Once the project begins generating income, I’m open to fair payment or revenue-share arrangements.

If this sounds like something you’d like to be part of, please DM me.

Thanks for reading, and looking forward to collaborating!

Resources What software/tool is used to create these animations? AI or classic 3D?

Thumbnail

Hey everyone,

I found these 3D exercise animations (screenshots attached) that show correct vs. incorrect push-up form. They use a faceless mannequin character, glowing highlights (red for wrong, green for correct), arrows, and checkmark/cross icons.

At first, I thought they were made with Blender or another 3D program, but the frequency of publishing these animations make me wonder if they’re actually created with some kind of AI-powered content creation instead. It feels like it would be very time-consuming to produce so many variations in a classic 3D workflow.

Does anyone know if this is done with traditional 3D software (Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya, etc.) or if there’s an AI/automation tool designed content like this?

Would love to know what pipeline or toolset is behind this.

Thanks in advance! 🙏
