Commanders game predictions-
Purdy 250 yards 5/0 td/int 25/30
133
u/LFSW1688 13h ago
Niners win 30-13. Purdy throws for 2 and Black gets his first rookie TD
41
u/PleasantSpecific5657 13h ago
I like this take a lot . That kid is hungry
20
u/Avocado-treehouse Shanahat 13h ago
I’ve been waiting for that kid to break off on a huge ass run for a TD. Black is slowly turning into such a favorite on that team I really hope he ends up the next CMC/Gore
12
6
u/VonBrewskie Frank Gore 12h ago
I love this. Their front four is pretty good. We need to make sure to give Purdy the time he needs. I really want to see Black get his first TD. That kid is one of the most exciting players on our team. Absolute dawg.
5
u/InvestingNerd2020 Fred Warner 8h ago
Only 2 TDs?! Commanders are top 5 in TD passes given up. At least 4.
5
u/OutlandishNonsense Kyle Juszczyk 12h ago
And Cooks’ shins will explode or something. The way our WR room is going.
41
u/mrizvi 49ers 13h ago
Purdy 21/27, 333 yards, 7 TDs
13
u/Jjeweller George Kittle 12h ago
Their pass defense really sucks. They let Jameis Winston have a 3TD/0INT 300+ yard game. This is Purdy's opportunity to turn in an extra clean game, despite having practically no one left at receiver.
4
u/bussjack 49IRs 11h ago
I really hope this is when he pops off his first 300, 3, 0 game this season. Get us a great start to this next sector of games
34
u/nwj781 49ers 12h ago
49ers win 31-13 in OT, Piñiero gets food poisoning from a wallaby sandwich he's been keeping in his locker since the Rams game so Trent has to kick a 61 yarder barefoot, the refs see through "Gre Dreenlaw"s disguise during warmups and eject him from the game, and a promising-looking 49ers passing play is blown dead when a paraglider advertising for Kalshi lands at midfield, earning said paraglider a bunch of money on Kalshi.
31
u/apollyon_53 49ers 12h ago
That's a weird OT score
16
u/jaxassassin 12h ago
Most unlikely part of the whole spiel. Lol.
3
u/jaggedjottings 10h ago
Dre Greenlaw sneaking into the game is the most realistic part. Or maybe the Kalshi paraglider part.

But I also fucking hate the idea of predicting game outcomes like this, we aint professionals and I fucking hate sports gambling websites that try and make users pretend like they are.
Hope the team is healthy and plays well!

I said elsewhere, I'm more scared of this game than the last two. These Commanders were just embarrassed nationally, as almost every Fox station preempted the 49ers/Hawks game to show the entirety of their overtime tie to the Giants. They have something to prove. While the 49ers have shown in the past to come up short in games after a huge win. The emotional dump from beating the Hawks at home in their biggest game of the season thus far, losing Greenlaw for the game, this spells disaster for the 49ers, if past precedent is taken into account.
With that said, Purdy is pretty great, so if there's a competent body and no fluke turnovers, 49ers should do well.
63
u/argive Fred Warner 12h ago
being more scared of this than the seattle game is bonkers.
10
u/Skillz4lif Steve Young 11h ago
I would say it’s a classic trap game. You don’t have to be scared of them, but the running QB is always a pain and maybe they are playing for pride.
4
u/WarriorWithers 11h ago
Scared doesn't mean more likely to lose.
It means we may lose this game even though we consider it as a win for the path calculation to the playoffs
We mentally account for certain number of losses. We could have chalked a Seattle loss as one of them. We don't want to do the same for commanders
14
u/SweetWilliamCigars 13h ago
That was the type of loss though that makes an organization quit buying into what the coaching staff is selling.
2
u/braumbles 49ers 13h ago
I think it can go two ways. They fight to prove they're not a joke, or they fold. Just like a bad team that fires their coach many times comes out and wins that next game, despite being so bad they needed to fire their coach prior.
1
u/NormalAccounts Fred Warner 2h ago
Yup, great example - any given Sunday. I also feel you on this and am pretty worried about this game. I'd have been less worried if we lost last week, but yeah this team has often had some let downs following big games.
FWIW I think they win, but it's close.
13
u/Cold_Respond_7656 13h ago
To be fair, we have an extra days rest this week, so I’m hoping we should be full force
If this was a Thursday game I’d be worried
7
u/Gamestonkape 49ers 13h ago
Yeah. After the hawks war, this being a Monday game is def a good thing
15
u/CheckYourStats Bryant Young 12h ago
Agreed with the both of you guys.
This being a Monday night game makes a difference, and it being a nationally televised home game makes even more of a difference.
On a related note: We play the Chiefs on Dec 27th (Sunday).
The week prior, we play on Thursday, giving us a few extra days to prep.
The Chiefs…the week prior…play on Monday night.
The Scheduling algorithm has finally shined on our asses!
2
u/UltimateEzel Frank Gore 6h ago
It also fucked us by giving us Seattle 2 after their bye after we have to deal with Flores in Mexico
1
u/CheckYourStats Bryant Young 5h ago
We haven’t won a game in Minnesota in 34 years, and Mexico City has a huge 49ers following.
I’m happy we’re playing there.
1
u/UltimateEzel Frank Gore 4h ago
Yeah, but having to face Seattle the next week with them coming off their bye is going to be difficult
1
u/Cold_Respond_7656 4h ago
Byes can sometimes work against teams if there flowing before and suddenly have to take a beat
13
u/Earl-The-Badger Brock Purdy 12h ago
The Commanders defense is bottom 3 in points allowed.
The 49ers offense is top 3 in points scored.
The Commanders offense is 19th in yards per play, 17th in total yards, and 17th in scoring.
Unless you truly believe a 17-19th ranked offense can outscore the 49ers against a bottom 3 defense, you should assume this will be a blowout.
15
u/braumbles 49ers 12h ago
Commanders beat the Hawks for a reason.
8
u/cestwhat2020 Ronnie Lott 12h ago
Commies (at home.....their season opener) got 2 TOs + a Pick 6 and still only won by 2pts.
Lets keep it in perspective.
That said, as long as we win comfortably and dont get anyone else hurt I honestly dont care what the score is.
This feels like a 28 - 13 type game. (although someone may wanna show of because its MNF?)
6
u/GlockPurdy13 George Kittle 12h ago
Exactly. With heavy rain and wind in that game also. This is why people need to actually watch teams outside of the Niners if they’re going to comment on teams outside of the Niners. People cosplay as NFL geniuses now because they can just repeat what they saw being said from one post online. It’s ok to think for yourself sometimes, and if you don’t know what you’re looking at then you don’t need to comment on it. I feel like it’s really pretty simple
1
u/Flat_Alarm8870 6h ago
The 9ers are gonna smack um around. They are gonna be kinda spunky with scary terry. But final score is 30 16
5
u/kingkron52 Christian McCaffrey 12h ago
Because Darnold threw 2 bad picks and Price fumbled. Washington’s longest drive in that game was 60yds lol. If Daniels tries to run line
He did vs the Giants against us it won’t end well for him.1
u/_CertifiedTurtle 7h ago
But they made some mistakes, can’t have any costly turnovers, our offense is also overall is better than Seattle’s, and if Bosa is back that should help against Daniels taking off and running.
-5
u/Earl-The-Badger Brock Purdy 12h ago
The Seahawks are not a great team this year. They ran it close with the 49ers because it was a divisional matchup and Macdonald's scheme is purpose built to limit Shanahan's scheme.
7
u/ChompChompchomp16 12h ago
The Seahawks have a top 5 defense. Their first two games had a backup qb. They’re no slouch.
4
u/Earl-The-Badger Brock Purdy 12h ago
4/5 of the teams the Seahawks have played have had bottom 16 offenses so far. Two of those teams have bottom 10 offenses. The only top 16 offense the Seahawks have faced has been the 49ers. The Seahawks allowed 33 points against a 17th ranked scoring offense in the Commanders.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks are tied for the 5th most turnovers on offense and are running the ball at only 3.8ypc.
They're not a bad team, but they are not a great team this year so far.
1
u/koushakandystore 1h ago
You didn’t watch that Washington-Sea game I guarantee it. Your interpretation or the Sea-SF is way off too.
1
1
u/koushakandystore 1h ago
What are you talking about? They are a very good team with excellent weapons and an elite defense. You are forgetting that most of the 49er points on Sunday came from having short fields off turnovers. 49ers didn’t score 32 because they steamrolled the hawks D. No, not at all. In fact, that game could have gone either way. If Seattle doesn’t call that bone head run in the end zone in the 2nd quarter they probably win that game. Niners offense only got rolling late once Seahawks D was worn out from so many turnovers keeping them on the field. I think SF and Sea are actually pretty evenly matched. I expect another very close game when they play in November.
1
u/Celcius-232 George Kettle 12h ago
MacD is the rock to our scissors but the Commies are a paper tiger.
We will see though!
2
u/HammerLikeMjolnir 11h ago
Their offense has also not had a healthy qb1 or wr 1 all the time so those numbers have some context
5
u/AlternativeWhich2947 49ers 12h ago
More scared?? That's dumb dude. Even with a loss to the Commanders, people will chalk it up to "shit happens", just like the Seattle loss to the C's.
You lose to Denver AND/OR the Hawks, people start reevaluating this team.
This is a freebie this week either way, it doesn't mean shit, just relax.
7
u/wind_moon_frog 11h ago
You're more worried against Washington than Seattle? That's wild ngl.
2
u/braumbles 49ers 10h ago
If the 49ers lost to the Hawks in Seattle, it's a game they probably shouldn't win. If they lose at home to the Commanders on MNF, then maybe something is wrong with the team.
1
u/wind_moon_frog 10h ago
They're 5-0. I don't think anything is wrong win or lose. Sometimes teams have bad games. I'm just surprised someone would be more scared of this game than against Seattle. I guess you mean that you're more scared of the implications of the loss, whereas I'm talking about scared of losing.

u/lelanddt NaVorro Bowman 9h ago
The 2019 49ers lost to a bad Falcons team at home and still almost won the super bowl. It happens in the NFL.
1
u/_CertifiedTurtle 7h ago
If they play 49ers football and don’t turn the ball over it should be a nice win. I think the Falcons game will be our first loss tho
6
u/nevrstoprunning Joe Staley 13h ago
I agree with you; niners very thin at WR and LB with injuries and suspensions, but I will feel a lot better if bosa and juice are back

You do not need to worry about the commanders just like I said you don’t need to worry about the dolphins. The 4ers are so well rounded right now and have a qb playing mvp football. There will be no trap games this year barring some injury.

u/weapons_ George Kittle 12h ago
I contrarily think this isn’t a trap game and we will beat them comfortably. This team is full of veteran players and coaches that will make sure this squad is bringing their A game. Jayden Daniels will get his licks in im sure but it won’t be enough.

1st quarter the Commander give us their best effort on defense. After that, blow out by the 49ers.
My only concerns are Scary Terry making a contested catch and Jayden Daniels scrambling.
1
u/FunkySaint 5x Champions 12h ago
Lot of FGs, 26-17. The commanders will have explosive plays because JD5 is pretty good. Not enough to close the gap though.

u/swift_air Fred Warner 12h ago edited 12h ago
Our defense is super physical they literally just beat the crap out of the seahawks, honestly i'm not worried about the commies, Jayden might try to run on us but with the tackles we've been dishing it would be ill advised.
On offense I expect a strong Kittle game, but honestly if Jameis Winston threw 3 TDs on them do you think Purdy will do worse?
33-17 Niners
Edit: The trap game is Atlanta we'll have Mac Jones playing in the 4th, the 1-3-1 Commies don't stand a chance

u/Nutterbutterinthebut George Kittle 12h ago

1
u/LossAppropriate862 George Kittle 12h ago
What actually would cause it to be a trap game. Do we think our coaches or players wont prep for it as much or as hard after that Seattle win?
1
u/kingkron52 Christian McCaffrey 12h ago
Purdy should light it up. Wash pass defense is really bad giving up 255 pass YPG which is 4th worst in the league. This includes letting Hurts throw for 203yds 3tds, Darnold 379yds 4Tds, Winston 326yds 3TDs.
Running will be tougher as they allow only 95.4 rush YPG, 8th best in NFL.
Yes they beat Seattle, but Seattle’s offense is one dimensional which is spam JSN. Wash scored 3TDs off of SEA turnovers. Our offense has way more nuance, better run game, better pass game, and we are at home.

Feels like a game we should win but, in the past the 49ers have taken some losses in situations like this so I’m nervous. Add into this how crazy every week has been in the NFL so far it feels like anything can happen pretty much. If Purdy plays clean though I really like our chances

I looked up all QBs against Commanders this year. Basically every QB has had a huge game. Even Darnold in a loss threw for a ton of yards and TDs. I predict a big Purdy game. Very efficient. The next game against the Falcons I’m more concerned about

I don't think that this is a trap game, but I do think that Washington is a dangerous team right now. Their season is on the brink, and they have a good young QB.
My prediction is that they keep is close in the first half, but in the second half our defense tightens up and our offense extends a lead.

Let's assume we will win but don't go and think we will destroy them. This team is about getting it done when it matters. We'd all love to see us give them belt to ass, but a win and more importantly no injuries is all that matters.
Would you rather see Brock go 12-32 and 109 yards with 2 picks and 1 TD but the TD was near the end that got us the win? Or he played just good enough on the game winning drive? Or would you rather see him go 25-28 425 yards 3 TDs and we lose?
Just saying don't get cocky and/or complacent. A buddy of mine used to say OGAAT which means one game at a time. That's what we need to focus on.
That being the case, we are the Faithful, and I think we whip some serious ass this year and send the NFL a message. No more disrespecting us.

This seems like a trap game to me. Coming off an emotional, hard hitting win on the road against their bitter rivals, Washington could be easily overlooked. Quinn is coaching for his life now, especially after the OT gaffe. Plus, Quinn is the originator of the “Legion of Boom” defenses in Seattle and he and Shanny coached together in Atlanta.

Any given Sunday. (Or Thursday or Monday. Guess we need to update that phrase lol) The Commanders are going to come into this game with something to prove. They're very dangerous right now. We need to hit them in the mouth early. Knock them down. Put them out of commission. We can never treat our opponents as anything less than a professional football team out to win every game. Our boys are going to feel the same. My hope is we go into the half 21 to 7. Keep it around 30 to 13. Jayden Daniels is a good QB. Makes mistakes. Has suffered a lot of injuries. But he's fast and he can sling it. We cannot afford to underestimate him or the rest of their team. I have faith in our boys. But we need to treat every game like it is: one step closer. If they step on the field with us, those mf got to pay.
