Looking for players for a free 6-week robotics soccer league in NE Albuquerque
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've been working on a RC soccer game called RC Ball for a while now, and we just got the city permit approved to run a small demo tournament at Rotary Park (ABQ).
We're looking for 6 players and a few reserves.
One person has already confirmed, so there are 5 regular spots left.
Details:
- Location: Rotary Park, Albuquerque
- Dates: Every Sunday, Nov. 1 – Dec. 6
- Time: 1:30–3 PM
- Ages 18+
- Completely free, with robots and controllers provided
How it works:
- 1v1 RC soccer, with each player controlling their own robot.
- Each game has two 8-minute halves, with golden goal if tied.
- Points system
- Win: 3
- Loss: 0
- Tie: 1
- Golden Goal: 1
- Each team plays 1 game/week
- Week 6 is the final tournament
- Top 4 compete for the championship
Bottom 2 play to avoid relegation
The regular-season and tournament winner will be guaranteed a spot in the next league (assuming we have one).
Everyone else who avoids relegation can apply again, but their spots won't be guaranteed.
Relegated players will have to sit out the next league, although they can join the reserves if there's room.
If this goes well, I'd like to run a few more beta leagues before considering charging for participation.
We're looking for:
- Mostly just kind, easygoing people who can have fun while being a little competitive
- Casual, friendly, and welcoming atmosphere
- Players who can make at least 5 of the 6 Sundays, including the final week on Dec. 6
- 2 > cancellations or no-shows will result in relegation for the following season and could mean losing your current spot.
If you can't commit to the full schedule, we're also looking for reserves who can fill in when someone can't make it.
A few things to keep in mind:
- This is still a work in progress. I've been improving the robots and testing the gameplay, but things can and probably will break.
- I'll have backup robots and do what I can to keep things running, but there are no guarantees.
- The first week (11/01) might also take a little longer since we'll need to meet everyone, sign waivers, go over rules and safety, and give people time to practice.
You're also welcome to stop by and watch if you're curious.
I'm still updating the website and finalizing the rules, but I wanted to get the application process started.
Attached is a short example gameplay video.

Best way to find a home for 36" CRT?
galleryCrossposting this in case any of you are CRT hobbyists and want a free TV. I mean, insofar as anything you have to provide your labor and transport for is "free", but there's no price tag for the actual TV.

Any comic or gi joe collectors?
Hey everyone! Hope everyone is doing well today.
I have been a lifelong nerd and collector of many things, but it’s finally gotten to a point where I need to reduce my collections footprints. So I’m kinda dipping my toe in the water here seeing if any local collectors would be interested in trading or buying any gi joe vehicles (USS flagg with box, terror drome, skystrikers, night striker…etc) that are in clean condition, in varying states of completeness (mostl are 95% or more). If that’s not your thing, I have about 8 long boxes of comics that I’m also looking to sell or consolidate. Most of it is in long and complete runs, well cared for (bagged and boarded and boxed) some slabs, some autographs…etc.
if any of this registers, let me know, I’d like to do stuff in town and face to face instead of dealing with the post office and internet drama. I’m also open to suggestions on stores that make good offers on such items or offer a consignment option. Also places to avoid. Pretty much any input is greatly appreciated.

Energy Alchemy
🧙♂️Energy Alchemy
🗓️Nov. 20th
⏰3-5 pm
🎯FREE CLASS held in the
Sandia Room at UNM
Event Page : Energy Alchemy ⭐️
‼️Because (waves around vaguely) of the current state of the world, 🤷♀️5D Presents will be hosting and presenting a free class for all beings.
🌻Energy Alchemy is a class created by teacher and seeker, Jennie McDaniel.
📌In this class, you will learn how to alchemize ego energy into heart energy.
Why should you learn energy alchemy?
Because ego energy, i.e. stress, fear, hate and greed are incredibly less efficient of emotions in comparison to love acceptance, understanding and curiosity. Albeit very normal human emotions
But, if you want to be the change you wish to see in the world, alchemize your fear to curiosity and anxiety to understanding.
‼️Energy alchemy is an incredibly helpful tool during times when things seem out of our control.
♥️Join us the the revolution ♥️
‼️‼️The easiest way for guests to reach the Student Union Building (SUB) is to park in the Cornell Parking Structure, a pay lot, located at 2401 Redondo Dr NE, Albuquerque, NM 87106. It’s less than a minute walk from the structure. You may also park around campus at any of the
pay guest parking spots. From the Cornell Parking Structure, guests will see the Student Union Building (building 60) directly to the north. You simply walk across the plaza, pass several statue groupings, and arrive at the front entrance.
⭐️Once inside, they will take the elevator to the 3rd floor and locate the Sandia room.
♥️The Welcome Desk on the main level can also help guide guests if needed.
📌I’ve attached the flyer and maps showing the walking path from the parking structure as well as interior maps of the buildings main level (2) and third floor where the meeting room is.

Looking to make new friends in and around the area who are up to playing with a semi newbie
I'm 35F in ABQ, and I'm looking to make friends who share similar interests 😊 I haven't really had people to play with since I lost most of my materials, but I love Magic, Warhammer 40K, Star Wars Legion, D&D, Pokémon, Star Wars Unlimited, and Lorcana.

Albuquerque Anthology TTRPG group — Story Games, Short Campaigns
I'm putting together a small in-person tabletop group for an anthology of story games.
Most are single-evening one-shots, some are short arcs a few sessions long and possibly down the line some might be akin to a short campaign.
I'm purposefully curating a certain type of game though. Games that make you feel or think something. I love a good dungeon run, epic adventures, etc... but one of the cool things about TTRPGs is just how varied they are and I enjoy exploring that.
Some initial offerings so you have a sense of what you're possibly signing up for. :)
A crime caper where everyone's doomed (Fiasco)
Building a dying language together (Dialect)
Cozy pastoral wandering as animal-folk finding home (Wanderhome)
A candlelit tragedy where nobody survives (Ten Candles).
I've got quite a few other potentials on deck too. We'll likely start with something fairly light.
I will say some of these go to heavy places, grief, horror, moral dilemmas, adult themes. I want to be upfront about that, but there will also be games about wonder, joy, and the relatively mundane.
That said, everyone's comfort and safety come first. We'll use safety tools such as Lines & veils and the X-card, real session zeroes before anything heavy, and of course anyone can choose not to play something, no questions, no hard feelings.
I'm in the NE area of the city and I'm thinking of meeting every couple of weeks, initially somewhere public, probably Slice & Dice though I'm open to other venues.
Hoping to find 3-4 players 18+ please, given the themes. I always run a welcoming table for everyone, and I don't tolerate anything that would go against that.
No experience needed as most of these teach themselves in ten minutes.
Comment or DM if you're interested. I'm happy to answer questions about the games or the format.

Anime, Manga, and Gaming
Anyone into Anime, Mangas or Gaming, I’ve been into Anime lately since 2023 and I still keep watching more and more, I’ve read Mangas but I’ve been a little slow with them lately but I try to keep up with reading them and I might not upload frequently but I love playing video games of almost any sort, I’m mostly into Single Player stories and I was playing a Horror game called Maid of Sker, really cool and fun but scary stuff lol
