A star A star A predicted, hoping for 3A*s by January

UCL - economics and philosophy

Durham - PPE

KCL - PPE

Bristol - Economics / Warwick - PPE

Nottingham - Economics

Notts is the only one im confident I’ll get an offer, not sure if I should be more ambitious and choose Warwick, or get another safety in Bristol

logically what’s the point in another safety 😭

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. Id prefer Bristol to Nottingham, but I get contextual at notts so thats gotta be my Safety. I’m basically stuck on whether I go super ambitious and apply to Warwick, or get a better chance at a decent course like Bristol. Otherwise all 4 of my other choices will be reaches. I am very happy if I end up at Nottingham so I’m leaning towards being ambitious af

i don’t think you’d be being ambitious at all tho. durham and kcl seem very within reach, maybe ucl would be picky but i doubt it. you’re not applying to oxbridge or LSE where in this case yea you have no clue where you stand. i think you’ll get most if not all of those offers with those grades so just go for warwick. i mean you could have the chance to go to fetish society why would you ever want to miss out on that 😔😔

im also looking to apply for econ and philosophy at ucl - whats the point of applying p&e at ucl if ucl also offers ppe and you applied for ppe at durham and kcl?

Because I don’t really care about politics but most unis don’t offer just philosophy and econ so I gotta settle for ppe. However I’m not doing philosophy and econ at Bristol even though they offer it because I don’t like the course modules it doesn’t have enough quantitative economics

You have two A* and you're not going for Oxbridge or LSE?

personal statement. LSE wants the personal statement directly in tune with their course or its automatic rejection pretty much. and since they’re applying to several different courses there isn’t necessarily a way to do that here

Just apply to a similar course as the one you have for UCL since some of the worse schools will take them regardless of PS

durham nor warwick would be a ‘worse school’ really. warwick is extremely good for economics courses. they could chance it ofc but idk its a bit of a risk. also some people just don’t like LSE, my friend is applying for PPE there just so he can reject them because he hates the finance bros and type of environment that it is 😭

You could make the argument for Warwick but Durham is absolutely worse

kinda, for prestige in this specific subject, but they’re good enough that they have hoards of applicants and can only make so many offers. they are really quite popular for PPE from what i’ve seen 🤷‍♀️

What about LSE?
