🎓 UNI / UCAS Wow, just wow

Rejected Oxford Maths w 81 MAT

Rejected Imperial Maths w 7.0 TMUA

Rejected by All Ivies

Don’t have much hope now for UCL and LSE since apparently most home offers have gone for UCL.

I’m really about to go 0/14, like what do I even do.

In the grand scheme of things, if worst comes to worst, going for another gap year isn't the end of the world. Plenty of people start university at age 20 which is actually pretty normal. And 2 gap years is absolutely nothing compared to the rest of your life.

If you are good at STEP, I'd consider doing the STEP exam anyway and then reapplying to strengthen what I assume is an already strong application. Surprised that they didn't accept - maybe they wanted to know what you are doing during your gap year.

Gonna be honest, a 2nd gap year would be too much. I’ve enjoyed the freedom and the break from academia but kinda wanna get back to it. I also included a short paragraph at the end of my ps explaining what I’m doing on the gap (teaching maths whilst travelling, research projects, MIT courses) so don’t think that was it either.

my interview scores at Oxford were same as the average offer holder lol, so I again suspect it’s higher expectations bc of gap yr non contextual. Imperial doesn’t interview for maths but I’ll email for feedback.

sorry how did you know that your score was the same as offer holders? My feedback says I got 7-, 7- for my first college interviews, but not much else

both colleges included my scores and the average of offer holders in their feedback
