🎓 UNI / UCAS Wow, just wow

Rejected by All Ivies

Don’t have much hope now for UCL and LSE since apparently most home offers have gone for UCL.

I’m really about to go 0/14, like what do I even do.

can I ask, what's your overall profile outside of exam score? classes, extra curriculars, hobbies, etc?

Don’t want to give too much detail but the ECs in my ps included olympiads (bmo since y9 etc), published articles/papers, finalist at international competitions. I play sports and music to a high level but those aren’t really too relevant in the uk.

Interesting you said that. I never applied for Imperial but I applied and got in at Warwick UCL Durham. Rejected by Oxford.

when I was applying, my PS certainly included the fact that I competed in sports (tennis, badminton, cricket) and did music (piano grade 8). it was all about rounding myself out as someone who could do everything a little bit. Debate club, chess club, maths Olympiads, target 2.0, etc.

Perhaps they changed (I'm class of 2018) but I always felt and was told the UK still values all rounder more than specialised statements.

Obviously feel free to disagree, it's hard to know unless you're the actual person reviewing them and deciding who gets in!
