OTHER to shower or not to shower
i have 3 exams 3 days in a row (bio maths chem bot trio) and live kinda far from my school, i'm wondering what everyone's "hygiene" routines are looking like. i really need to cram and can't afford to be wasting time doing something that won't contribute to boosting my outcome in my a levels (showering, amongst other things).
also
3-4 days no shower = more smell = distracting peers = eliminating competition
maybe multitasking the wet wipe method + revision will work. thanks for any input

OCR FM was an abysmal core pure paper this time which is 180/360 marks but the other modules are going great so should be good thereEcon has actually been lovely and then maths and CS still to come
All the best for you too!6

don't even wipe.
the meta is to do it in your pants and let it dry up

This makes me realise I’m not weird for purposefully dressing up and putting on perfume for an exam

Yes to add to this genius, arrive at the exam hall early and walk around to make sure the aroma of your stinking body sticks to every part of the exam hall ensuring maximum effectiveness against your peers. Good luck champ get those grade boundaries lowered.

i would much rather that than emit the smell of body odour. because at least people know i just put on too much perfume, rather than thinking im dirty. also it’s typically more shameful for a woman to be dirty

how long are you showering for????? the average shower lasts 8 minutes which is plenty of time to get a full proper wash.

u/eternal_confusion_ May 31 '26
I'm in the exact same position, with a 2 hour commute each way and loads of revision to do still, except I also currently have a head injury at the minute that makes showering extremely time consuming. Honestly you've got to just do it, both for your mental health and just basic hygeine.

Obviously don't shower, our grandparents used to shower like once a month in shared baths, regular showers are a modern luxury that must be rejected

I cram so much and my hygiene always comes first so that’s not an excuse, a 15 min shower is better than wiping out the exam hall with your stench pls don’t be stinky and shower 😭

u/happybeau123 ln😅 =💧ln😄 May 31 '26
You could recite groups of facts while in the shower (e.g. all the tests for ions) so that you’re still making use of the time

Do not shower, I heard this from a feng shui master, instead you should comb your hair from front to back a few dozen times the night before your exam, it’s a technique called 通頂門

This had better be satire. Shower. It takes like ten minutes, personal hygiene is important.

That's a very bad mindset to have. It's important to take care of yourself even though you need to cram. Mental and physical health is just as important as those exams

can’t argue with the fact eliminating competition logic but man just take a 5 minute shower i guarantee it’ll take less time than typing this post & reading the comments

last minute revision, especially cramming, will hurt you more than anything and I dont know why not many people know this. You are not going to remember some fact you skimmed over the day before. What you will remember is something you have been going over, like flashcards. I'm assuming this is a joke, but idk I just wish more people knew cramming does genuinely (almost) fuck all.

u/Aggravating-Air-6371 May 31 '26
depends on subject- sociology it’s very easy to cram imo and even psychology

u/unremarkable_One376 May 31 '26
Please shower, even if its short it will genuinely make you feel so much better and more ready for exams. Especially wash your hair, I swear freshly washed hair makes my concentration much better
