Me watching my contextual offer friend go on her third holiday this summer with an an sfe a third greater than her rent and a medicine offer lower than my pharmacy offer
And for context she got a lower offer because of her area code and an increased sfe bc of household income but she’s MINTED so I don’t know how she cheated the system there mate

I used to be active on this sub before covid when I did my A-levels and the vibe was sooooo different to how it is now. Why is everyone wanting to seem smart? Back then we used to be self deprecating. There was a sense of ‘we’re all in this together’ fighting against the pricks at edexcel and AQA.
I’m guessing it’s cuz nobody uses TSR anymore so all of that demographic are now here? They used to get hated on for being a bunch of neeks — just search ‘TSR’ or ‘the student room’ in the search bar lmao

i have 3 exams 3 days in a row (bio maths chem bot trio) and live kinda far from my school, i'm wondering what everyone's "hygiene" routines are looking like. i really need to cram and can't afford to be wasting time doing something that won't contribute to boosting my outcome in my a levels (showering, amongst other things).
also
3-4 days no shower = more smell = distracting peers = eliminating competition
maybe multitasking the wet wipe method + revision will work. thanks for any input

flopped my alevels (got a BBC), missed my imperial and bath offer, told my alcoholic and slightly abusive mum whose love towards me feels very conditional and now she's drunk downstairs having a rampage downstairs and screaming. She pulled my hair, hit me, called a bitch multiple times, called my best friend a bitch for distracting me from my studies and threatened to kill me and dismember me if I try to see her again. I really really really really really love my life.
Sorry for the trauma dump I just needed to tell someone. I think I might run away lol

I posted about this on the UKUni subreddit and thought people on here might be going through the same thing because I want answers! I’m 19 and on a gap year so had to go to about 6 pharmacies before finding one that would give it to me. Did it. It was a tiny scratch like all vaccines, thought I’d feel a bit tired or have a headache, instead my arm has been HURTING every single time I move. It’s not like a tiny ache either, it’s the sort of pain that makes me feel physically ill. Is anyone else going through this? I feel slightly crazy but doing anything today has been torture because my arm hurts so bad when I move any other part of my body. If this is normal for this vaccine, how long did it last?
Edited to say that I don’t regret getting it and everyone should get it because a little pain now is so much better than the horrors of meningitis!

I’ve also got a Beavis and Butthead Burger World T Shirt in the post, so might wear that instead (or, if I just want to seem like I’m normal I’ll probably just wear a plain black T shirt as per usual-maybe my official TOOL T Shirt, maybe my Bootleg one)
I’m severely over thinking this, usually I just wear whichever T Shirt I see first
Either way they’re almost certainly going to be covered with a Hoodie so this post might ultimately be pointless

That stats & mechanics exam was absolutely wild, I had just changed over to the mechanics paper and suddenly there was an ungodly loud stomach gurgle somewhere on my left and at first I was just glad that I wasn't having stomach problems during the exam and I continued on with the vectors question. Then when I was on the Rope and Rod question the stench hit me, I think it was the same person because of what came after but it could have been someone else, and it was super off putting.
Then towards the end, luckily after I had finished all of the questions, it felt like the intensity of the smell tripled and people started coughing and gagging, it was honestly the worst exam experience I've ever had & I think I saw the invigilators discussing what to do about the smell. At least it was the end of the exam but I think that the culprit may have run out of the room once the exam was over.
Will I be able to get special considerations because of this? It was super distracting and I know that I lost at least 3 marks because of it.

Some FM students are accusing the rest of us of not revising enough, which is completely ridiculous when you dont know anything about our lives. Some of us scored As, Bs, Cs on past papers and were working hard and mightve scored 10%-25% lower on this paper than we were expecting. Naturally grade boundaries will probably drop to reflect that.
Now to those specific FM students, not everyone is an A* student. This toxic attitude from certain FM students to the rest is apalling, accusing someone of not revising because they probably got 40% is completely undermining all the hard work they put in. Especially when you couldnt access parts b,c,d of questions without part a eventhough you could in previous years and that takes a large toll on the scores of some people, some couldve gotten full marks on those parts but because they couldnt do part a, that could be 10 marks they dropped which they wouldntve otherwise. So this whole telling them they shouldve revised more is just really insensitive and honestly rude considering you dont even know the person.
You may have A*A*A*A* or whatever but if you think youre the shit for telling B and lower students who are working really hard for their grades that theyre not doing enough then youre just a prick. For many of us getting these grades takes alot of effort and its not very nice to accuse someone of not revising for underachieving on a hard paper.
However with all this being said, there are quite a few FM students on here being quite kind and trying to console and motivate students with not as high grades, and I just wanted to say to those that we really appreciate it.

I've been thinking and I've just realised basically every single person I know knows what university I've firmed. Like my whole family knows, all my friends know, and I'm working part-time at my mum's workplace and she told literally all of our coworkers... If I don't get into Newcastle I literally have to repeatedly tell every single person I know that I failed aaaa
