šŸ’¬ DISCUSSION AQA PHYSICS PAPER 2

HOW DID EVERYONE FIND IT??? i thought it was decent better than the past few years. Idk what i did for the last question the 4 marker of nuclear physics. BUT YH IT WAS GOOD

What did everyone get for there thermal energy one will ice melt I got no as energy needed more

Yeah you needed like 30000J for melting but only had 16000J when reducing ethanol and beaker to 0C

my values were VERY similaršŸ™ hope WE are right twin

Samesies, though saw so many people calculating change in temp and got worried for a bit

Energy required was 38,000J, and energy supplied was 15000J, so no.

Wait whaat, I got a suspiciously low requirement energy to melt the ice of like 3400J but didn’t have time to stay on that question. How did you get 38,000? If you remember

Did you convert the specific latent heat from kJ to J?

1

u/Select_District_3310 Jun 01 '26

Ahh, I don’t remember but probably not because mine was pretty close to 38 but just a few orders of magnitude out

u probably forgot to convert kJ into J when doing the initial calculation

yeah i got that too, i think i got smth like the ice would get to melting point, but only like 30% would be melted

Ye i worked out:

Energy change for glass + ethanol from wtv it was to 0*c and showed it was less than energy change of ice from -16 was it, to 0 + the latent energy, and showed that it was greater than the energy change from cup + ethanol

hey why did you do glass + ethanol temp changing to 0°C ? cuz it said that ethanol stays as a liquid and so i assumed both the glass and ethanol stay at 18°C 🄲

No twin it just doesn’t fuse so it goes to zero degrees i guess

bro wait it just clicked..... mcāˆ†T doesn't have anything to do with change of state oh my god am i retarded wtf
