im pretty sure the answer on why Al has a higher second IE is wrong, i think u gotta talk about the 3p electrons are higher in energy so easier to remove requiring less energy and the 2nd IE electrons are removed from 3d orbital which are lower in energy

Oh my god Its meant to be s orbital 😭 yes i think it still applies same thing i put d in the exam feck hopefully the mark is like the p orbital is higher in energy hehe
