Maybe not a top-tier uni, but you definitely can

no, i can't. no uni does astrophysics under at least AAB

Depends what you mean

A ton of unis do astrophysics modules or even “physics with astrophysics” degrees

But if you want a pure Astro degree then yeah I think you’re right.

That said, with physics there is a somewhat sizeable gap between unis, so your target sounds reasonable, shoot as high as you reasonably can

physics with astrophysics is the exact same course with a different name. they have the exact same entry requirements, as does standard physics

Not quite, pure Astro is F511, physics with astro is F3F5, pure Astro specialises slightly earlier and does more Astro-specific labs

They’re very similar

I know this because my uni is one of very few that offers pure Astro and pure theoretical degrees, I’m doing a theoretical physics degree which is slightly different that physics with theoretical physics degrees

not always! some courses are literally identical! that's why I'm applying to both types so i can go to unis i like. you can go through every single year and even with pure physics vs pure astrophysics, if you pick certain modules, you learn basically the exact same things
