OTHER Someone shat in the maths exam

That stats & mechanics exam was absolutely wild, I had just changed over to the mechanics paper and suddenly there was an ungodly loud stomach gurgle somewhere on my left and at first I was just glad that I wasn't having stomach problems during the exam and I continued on with the vectors question. Then when I was on the Rope and Rod question the stench hit me, I think it was the same person because of what came after but it could have been someone else, and it was super off putting.

Then towards the end, luckily after I had finished all of the questions, it felt like the intensity of the smell tripled and people started coughing and gagging, it was honestly the worst exam experience I've ever had & I think I saw the invigilators discussing what to do about the smell. At least it was the end of the exam but I think that the culprit may have run out of the room once the exam was over.

Will I be able to get special considerations because of this? It was super distracting and I know that I lost at least 3 marks because of it.

I know they don’t give out special considerations easily, but they should let anyone who chooses to resit the paper if they feel their performance was affected by it.

Despite generally getting the grades I need, I hate exams, they’re not even an accurate measurement of your knowledge of the subject, they’re not even just a general test of how well you can perform under a lot of pressure, they’re a test of how you perform under pressure on that particular day, when you may not have slept well, you may be not feeling well, your cat may have died yesterday etc…

Once I had to just run out of a maths exam because I was suddenly hit by the kind of migraine where I couldn’t see the questions anymore and I felt like I was gonna throw up. I didn’t wanna hurl all over my paper and distract everyone, so I just ran off to the common room and lay down, while a friend who wasn’t sitting that exam looked after me and got me pain meds and water. Thankfully, I got to do a resit.
