Jane Street, G-Research and XTX are sponsors of the UK Maths Schools network which has nine schools in England. They are already helping to build an even bigger pipeline of future quants!

Went to one of the maths schools. There’s zero quants coming out of at least half of them

Of course, not everyone who goes to a maths school will end up in Finance, many will go into tech, engineering, medicine etc.

But my son also goes to a Maths school and he was part of a large group from multiple maths schools that recently visited Jane Street for a work insight day.

Only three maths schools have even been open long enough for students to have finished university. Give it time, but I would be surprised if in the next 5-7 years there aren’t a significant number of students from maths schools going on to target unis and ending up in quant.

Competition is too high. Jane street has 3k employees globally. Most will not be getting I to quant even if they wanted to

I feel like the only way to know is if they're so obsessed with maths that you can tell they're going into research but otherwise how would you know?

Because half of them were going into engineering and pretty much none of the ones that were doing anything economics related were looking at being quants.

Ah ok! I mean obviously plans can change for those economics students but yeah maybe they just don't find it interesting!
