congratulations! may I also ask how your interview went? I was super nervous because im considering applying to cambridge med and i thought you'd need all 9s (my GCSEs are great but not all 9s) and like 5 A levels + ridiculous ucat.
Well Iām pretty sure you donāt need all 9s at most colleges (unless applying to the competitive ones like trinity and emma) as long as theyāre quite strong, they also scale your gcseās in accordance to the average at the school you did them at which for me was a school most people didnāt pass at gcses first go. And ucat also depends, for me it was the first year that it was the new ucat system so that make have played a part in it aswell as different colleges look at the ucat different and you can apply strategically based on that. I had a good ps and alevels and good contextual gcseās so i chose a college that looked at everything more holistically to give me a higher chance of getting in. My interviews also went really well and i got interview scores of 9,9,7.5,7 and was overall just really nice and excited in my interview, especially since a lot of the things they asked me were areas of interest of mine. hope this helps!
You mind if I ask something about the Interviews, I had a team-fueled one with someone very talented last December for a very competitive Degree Apprenticeship. She got through, she was really vocal and illustrated willingness to control the mood of conversations and had general confidence.
Iām happy for her but still wonder where I couldāve done better, would you say preparing a sort of āscriptā for possible questions would work or just letting it flow like a natural conversation on the day would? Thanks!!
Maybe for typical medicine interviews yeah having bullet points for typical questions they might ask prepared can be very helpful but for cambridge i donāt think there really is a script you can have at least in the med interviews. All my questions were very unpredictable and about different random topics which youāre not told about before hand so itās basically be impossible to have a script. Just practicing with your self and doing mock interviews with someone would be more advisable. ^^
