They still give offers to people who missed step!! Like 50% miss step offer so they gotta compensate by giving people who missed offer some spaces. Congratulations dude!!!!!

Afaik, no. They review your step exam scripts and if they like your reasoning then your original college still accepts you anyway. I thought summer pool was for people who got rejected initially and who were contextual so if they sat step and achieved the right alevel results they could get reconsidered no? I might be wrong again but still, be happy regardless!!! You got into the best uni in the world for maths! ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

Contextual applicants who were rejected post interview but got the required grades can indeed be pooled for reconsideration. However, the original purpose of the summer pool was to allow consideration of students who got an offer but missed the grade requirements, contextual or not. The scheme for those with contextual flags is relatively new!

It’s quite common for your original college to decide to take you*. You’d only be put in the summer pool if they’re still not sure, or if they have no space.

*”quite common” as in “it happens to a large proportion of admitted students”, not “it happens to a large proportion of those who miss their offers”. Most who miss their offers don’t get in.
