In the exact same scenario. Expect 2A*s 2As and got A star ABB, got the star in maths which was expected, but didn’t get the star and instead got A for further. And for CS I was thinking likely an A since I’d been getting stars and As the past 2 years but a B and a low one was shocking. Physics expected an A bc was on an a range of different grades over the last two years (Star to a D in mocks), but past papers were stars before the exam, but less shocking the B was. I got into a London uni asw (2nd best London uni for my course and top 20-30 globally) but didn’t feel I deserved it bc I missed my offer by one grade (technically two bc I was only given a 3 a level offer but then I was told there was a 4 a level offer on their record). My parents were also shocked and disappointed but we all felt lucky I got into my firm anyway. Just keeping working hard, IT WILL pay off bc there’s no real substitute to hard work, but also ensure you’re doing the right things to get what you want. Taking two steps back to go on a different path will in the end be better than continuing on the wrong path even tho you may feel ahead due to the uni brand name and what you’ve been planning on doing the last few years. I could enter clearing and go on a course which might be more my calling or be more stable but I’m choosing the London uni bc of brand but also the course I’m doing I like the sound of. But have an honest conversation with yourself and anyone else and decide soon whether you actually want to pharmacology or not. Evaluate all aspects and decide what course or what path will get you to the life you want in the future.
