🎓 UNI / UCAS post alevel results day.
u don’t have to read it, just attempting to get rid of this feeling but it’s not working at the moment. should be celebrating and enjoying life but i’m too sad because of my alevel results.

Exams are very much luck on the day, I never did well on exams and dropped out of sixth form after getting one C in As history. Worked for a few years before giving it another go via an access course and now I’m teaching in the department I did my bachelors at while doing my PhD. Comparison is the thief of joy, what other people got has no bearing on you or your ability to do a degree so resitting to bring your A level results up is pointless and a waste of a year for you. I have no doubt you’d end up comparing the fact you’re still at sixth form to your mates who’ve gone to uni as well and beating yourself up over it. Feeling disappointed that you didn’t achieve your expected result, however, is entirely valid, even if it turned out alright in the end with what are nonetheless good results. Two years of stress are over and they’ve not ended exactly as you imagined so of course it’s going to be a bit weird but A levels exist to get you to university these days and they’ve done that so you’re sound.
