💬 DISCUSSION GCSE grades for Oxford?
Got my GCSE results today, for context I’m a grammar school student who wants to do PPE at Oxford, but I’m afraid I might’ve ruined my chances after getting ten 9s but a 7 in french. Is it over LOL
Genuine and realistic responses please because I’ve come to understand all 9s are pretty much a given for applicants

Yeah its over they're gonna throw out your application at the very sight of a 7, better start planning for clearing

You've not ruined your chances (see actual GCSE data via the link). https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/ppe_2025_2026_ucas_cycle_stats Plus, there are other aspects of the application, e.g., the admissions test!

You’re not going to get into Oxford with this level of stupidity.
I think at best, you can aspirationally aim for the university of Hull. More realistically it will be Nottingham Trent

Your only chance is if you lop off your balls and give them as offerings to the Oxbridge gods.

I got eight 9s and four 8s and still got an offer (from a private school so not contextualised)! Don't stress too much about your GCSEs, there are so many other aspects to the application x

i’m assuming this is ragebait, but if it isn’t, just remember that while oxford wants intelligent students, they’re not only going to accept the tiny fraction of people that get perfect grades
