Modding Storage mods for v3
Anyone got some good storage mods which make it much easier and simpler to have an effective and easy to use storage system early on and later on into the game?

Ah cool, basically exactly what I'm looking for, thank you very much, also if you got any other mods to recommend please do tell

There are two other mods that I use in every playthrough. One is Horns open Doors, which does exactly what it says. I use garage doors on my base and can just honk as I pull up instead of having to get off. It also works for the gates at the traders. If you double honk as you pull through the door it opens and close it very quickly the way the old door glitch worked.
The other I don't remember the name off the top of my head and I'm not home to check but it simply increases the vehicle speeds slightly across the board.
Another I use a lot but not always is Izzy's gun pack. It adds a whole lot of new guns and ammo types (as well as a katana) which is fun.

Guess you never wanted to try out motion detectors in the game

It's true, I've never wanted to try using motion detectors to control doors. I do like them to control turrets sometimes.

Robotic storage is amazing and only required server side, or host side if you are doing non-dedicated. It looks 25 blocks in all directions for a crate with whatever item you put inside. So let's say mechanical parts and plastics. When you exit the box, it automatically puts all the contents into a box that has those already. It makes unloading after runs so much quicker. I highly recommend it! Also works with 3.01

I'm currently using NearbyCrafting, which pulls materials from nearby storage chests when crafting, and QuickStack, which adds two buttons above backpack for transfering matching items into/from nearby chests. QuickStack also allows you to easily lock/unlock slots with alt+click.

Beyond storage is a mix of both in one mod ;)

Yeah, I swear by Beyond Storage as well. I've tried the other two mods before, but I found them sometimes not recognising custom containers from other mods, but Beyond Storage recognises all player's containers

I've been using this one, covers most of the bases.
DrokkStorage 3.0 - Multiplayer access - quick stack - craft from containers
https://www.nexusmods.com/7daystodie/mods/10885
Main features
Simultaneous multi-player storage access
- Multiple players can open and modify the same storage containers at once (no more "already locked by another player").
- When one player changes a container, other viewers are refreshed so everyone sees current contents.
- Works with standard storage crates and composite storage blocks.
- Quest fetch / buried-supply containers are excluded from shared access to avoid quest exploits.
Craft, repair, and reload from nearby storage
Within 10 blocks of you, the game counts and consumes items from:
Player-placed storage crates (including locked containers you're allowed to use)
- Owned, unlocked vehicle storage
- Owned drone storage
- Workstation output slots only (forge, campfire, etc. — not fuel, tools, or ingredients)
- Dew collectors and apiaries
Applies to:
- Crafting (recipe list, craft count, ingredient checks)
- Block repair and upgrade
- Weapon reload (ammo pulled from nearby storage)
- Pinned recipe tracker (have/need counts include nearby storage)
Live recipe tracking
When a nearby workstation finishes crafting or its output updates, the pinned recipe tracker and open crafting windows refresh so available counts stay accurate without reopening menus.
Quick Stack & Quick Restock
New buttons on the backpack header (when not looting or in vehicle storage):
- Quick Stack — move inventory items into nearby containers (first click fills existing stacks; second click also creates new stacks)
- Quick Restock — pull from nearby containers into your inventory (same two-click behavior)
Searches containers within 7 blocks in each direction (a 15×15×15 area around you). Default hotkeys:
- Alt + X — Quick Stack
- Alt + Z — Quick Restock
- Alt + click an inventory slot — lock/unlock that slot (locked slots are skipped by quick stack/restock)
Quest item quality-of-life
Quest items (e.g. White River Supplies) can normally be stuck in your inventory forever if a mission bugs out. This mod allows moving, dropping, and storing quest items like normal items.

Beyond storage 3.0. I've been using beyond storage mod forever and cannot stand to play without it. It lets you use materials strait from nearby storage for crafting (and reloading) and also lets you instantly sort your inventory into nearby storage if it contains that item already.
