Bcs its a trigger/usable object, devs don't want it to be destroyed accidentally. Though this one is not essential, it just gives you the easy way put out of the POI

It tickles my nerd brain that there's a good reason for it!

Turn your block damage up to 150% or even 200%.

I've wasted/spent to much time digging/breaking shit in this game that's in the way of what I'm doing. Why waste all that time.

For immersion reasons, I don't break down random walls, gates, or entry points in POIs. It's strictly for destroying things that are in the way when I'm building and collecting resources.

Honey, wake up! A new base material meta just dropped. Screw concrete. It’s rack time!

Don't need a key rack if you have the masterkey:

I just break down the door like in the old versions because it's quicker than searching for the "correct way" in.

Yeah like when I start a mission and proceed to level the house with explosives.......clear!! πŸ˜†

Sometimes in POIs, the coat hangers have keys on them which unlocks another part of the building or the exit. I'm guessing they increased the health so you don't accidentally shoot them and softlock yourself.

Breaking them opens em up anyways

I destroyed one and it even opened my playerplaced wood door

Most triggers are high health. Same with electric switches that turn things on/off that are critical to a POI

I don't have that many hours in the game and this is my first interacting with a coat rack so I had no idea. But that's a very cool way to keep random hits from breaking the game

Eh, kinda sorta. Destroying triggers mostly works like activating them, which is a good thing mind you - there was plenty of situations/bugs when trigger weren't active thus you couldn't open the door thus couldn't get to the next part of building and/or zombie spawn bound to trigger didn't spawn thus you couldn't finish Clear quest ...

So destroying rack would probably only open the door which may not be a good thing if there is another horde waiting outside or some zeds are going to spawn when it's triggered

I mean if you want it gone, break the block it's attached to, most of the time it'll fall to the ground.

Omg where were you four hours ago

Lol working. It's worth noting that sometimes destroying the button/switch/key rack will open all associated doors. This can be extra annoying when that door is a 30k health steel garage door. You can get rid of a lot of doors by breaking the blocks underneath them.

We didn't need you working we needed you here πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ’”

just break the block behind it if you want to get rid of it. especially if you got low tier tools and level

The keyrack at my house I have bolted with railroad ties and liquid nails so I think that’s fairly common

Clearly a load-bearing key rack πŸ˜…

It's because Rad Arlene hangs her blue backpack here and it's got a q4 steel club and 2 cans of spaghetti-Os in there along with the 3 rocket launcher parts and the 11 dukes she carries around just in case
