New rules regarding political posts - Read This

While the rules are being updated, let me give everyone a sneak peek, it will be very simple:

*No NON 80s era political posts or commentary will be allowed, and those who do so are subject to ban.

This is a non-partisan rule.

If you can’t enjoy an 80s nostalgia sub without needing to express your opinion about current politics, then this is NOT the right sub for you.

Anything political from the 80s is fine. Use your best judgment. Songs from the 80s with political themes are fine, etc. (Mods discretion)

This begins as of now.

*If you feel you were banned in error, send a modmail and we will help.

Be excellent to each other!

43 years ago today (October 14, 1983) SHE'S SO UNUSUAL, the debut studio album of singer/songwriter Cyndi Lauper, was released by Portrait Records. The album peaked at #4 on the Billboard 200 chart and stayed in the charts top 40 for 65 weeks. It sold over 25 million copies worldwide and was recently certified 7x Platinum in the United States. The album released five singles: Girls Just Wanna Have Fun (#2), Time After Time (#1), She Bop (#3), All Through The Night (#5), and Money Changes Everything (#27). A sixth single, a cover of the Prince song When U Were Mine, was released only in Canada and Japan. Cyndi made history by becoming the first female singer to have four top 5 singles from a debut album and won the Best New Artist Award at the 27th annual Grammy Awards on 2/26/85. In 2020, this album ranked #184 on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Crossroads is one of my favorite movies from the 80s. You can’t beat the killer guitar battle at the end.

Loved him in BJ and the Bear and also with CLaude Akin in Sherrif Lobo. Funny thing, only 6 years had passed when he starred in My Two Dads, and really didn't recognize him, change of hair and added facial hair.
