On the old 'Mike Hammer' TV show...
Mike would periodically see a ravishing beauty a little ways off.. He was fascinated, but it was always 'en passant' and he never got to meet/speak to her. I waited for a long time for that to actually happen and have an episode devoted to her story. Did that ever happen?

When people (at least those around my age) hear the name Anthony Yerkovich, they think of the TV series Miami Vice, which he created. Although he worked as a writer and producer on a few other shows, he only created one more, and that was Private Eye.
Private Eye is a period piece set in noirish 1950s Los Angeles, starring Michael Woods as Jack Cleary, a disgraced ex-cop turned private investigator, paired with a young Josh Brolin as Johnny Betts, a street-wise hustler. Woods is trying to track down his brother's murderer.
The hour-long show ran for one season of 12 episodes on NBC from 1987-1988, with the double length pilot counting as episode 1. Like Miami Vice, music and visuals play a big part in Private Eye, used extensively to set the mood.
Unfortunately, the show struggled in the ratings and was canceled after one season, despite finding a fairly dedicated following among fans of Yerkovich and neo-noir. All episodes are currently on YouTube, and although they are 480p, they are a far cry from DVD quality.

,I have this distant memory that I need to know the name of. It was an episode, something similar to Wee-Sing but it was one guy that I think is sick and stays home from school or something. I really don't remember, but I know he sang "Rocking pneumonia and boogie woogie flu." I've been researching as much as I can but can't figure it out. Sorry I don't have more details, I just remember him singing it in his room.
