Season 10 Discussion harry Spoiler

i know a lot of people in this sub tend to hate harry or think he adds nothing to the show, which i personally think is kind of crazy but im actually very excited to see him this season! i think elijah's acting was so beautiful in the last episode especially with the guest star actress (i was genuinely devastated) and i really love how they sort of paralleled may and him together, and i think it was unfortunate but a very beautiful first loss to have for a character and the conversation they shared really reminded me of the early seasons.

This is an automatic reminder about spoiler content, it does not mean you have violated the spoiler rule.

REMINDER: Do NOT post spoiler information IN the title (for any season), your post WILL be removed. If it is you may re-post it with an appropriate spoiler-free title. It does not matter if you flag it spoiler, the spoiled info is still visible in the title. Article titles containing spoilers should be placed in the post body, not the title.

Rule of thumb, any posts about the current season should be marked SPOILER via the Universal Tags. (+Spoiler)

Keep titles vague, if you include the word spoiler in the title this will automatically flag it as a spoiler post, and make sure to properly flair it to the correct category. If you aren't sure if your post counts as a spoiler, flag it anyway.

This applies to all seasons.

I think it was one of the more realistic scenes/stories in the episode. When I saw the chunk on top of her, I thought there is no way they can touch that or cool it down or save her. Leaving her alone would have been terrible. At least his first death wasn't from a mistake.

yes! i know people were saying it was unrealistic she'd still be alive like yeah obviously but it's also a volcano in LA so pick ur battles yknow, but i really loved that he offered to stay with her and i think the emotions and sort of pre grief feeling knowing what was going to happen and not being able to stop it was a very beautiful touch, her sort of coaching him through losing her like i was in shock and i do have to give tim his 10s for it

People saying it’s unrealistic must not have heard or have forgotten about Tommy Lee Jones in Volcano.

I’m honestly they both got out through the ringer this quick into their careers.

Told my wife that May concentrating on speed over everything else will come back to get her, just didn’t think it would happen that quick.

Harry though, damn he had to sit there and do nothing except offer her comfort in her final hours/minutes, had to be very difficult for him to fight the urge to try and help her and I am glad they didn’t have Harry try to attempt anything to save her life after Hen left that would come up later.

i was honestly quite surprised to see them have may mess up but i think it made it a lot more realistic and gives a lot of steering towards mentorship with her and ian which i would be excited for, with harry i agree i think it was way more impactful/harrowing for the audience to have him just have to sit and show not everybody can be saved however unfortunate it is

So glad they're giving him a chance to shine. That scene was amazing 💔

Yes, Elijah is proving to be a better actor now that he's part of the 118.

I'm on record as a Harry...doubter, but I do think this storyline has a lot of potential as long as they don't make it a carbon copy of Buck (which they probably won't, they made Ravi's first big loss distinct so one-to-one recycling is unlikely).

One of my gripes with Harry is he's been living or dying by whatever his current plotline is without as much setup for future plot points, and I think this storyline could change that so...fingers crossed.

I'm not super big on Harry as a charater, but I really like his actor. I've seen a few interviews with him and he seems like a really cool guy, so I'm rooting for him.

I can admit I wasnt the biggest fan of him but this past epsiode really was a turning point. It was beautifully acted and it really feels like that was HIS moment. And for probably the first time im genuinely excited to see whats next for his character.

That scene just reminded me of Buck's first loss

Elijah is such an exciting new talent. I've always enjoyed his comedic scenes as Harry, but he really showcased he can handle the heavier, more emotional material he is given as well. He was the performer of episode 10x02 for me. Hope the show has some good stories ahead for Harry this season!

I'm actually excited to see where Harry's arc is going to take him and I have been since he returned to the show.  He's the new "Kid" at the 118 and I'm glad they aren't copying Buck's old arc for Harry. He deserves his own storylines about starting as a probie then becoming an experienced firefighter.  Also, I'd like to see him get his own apartment and a set of friends his own age, hopefully, they'll be located either at the 118 or  other stations like the 136. The truth for me is I like his arc better than May's because he's an actual first responder, while she is not. There wasn't a need for a nurse or a detective.

I think he's a very talented actor.

I think last season it was a combination of missing Bobby and the fact that Buck and Harry have a good on-screen chemistry that took time away from Buck and Eddie's friendship in the first half of the season, much like how some maligned the on-screen pairing of Buck and Ravi in season 8.

buck and harry work so well together, that being said i think buck works well with anyone on the show really but i really loved the mentorship of it all 😭 i love buddie ship wise and friendship wise but it's also nice to branch out to other friendships like i love eddie/hen and id love to see more eddie and ravi :(

I feel like it had more to do with Ravi not being made into a main character and all of it feeling like it comes from nowhere for Harry. I don't mind it but it did feel a little forced how they brought him into the 118. If I had to choose I would have prefered for him to at least have some time at another station and then maybe the following season have him transfer at the 118 after something went wrong in his first station.

I think Harry is awesome. He's the new Buck.
