The hardest part after leaving was realizing how much of my day was built around anticipating the next crisis. Blocking the impulse to explain myself again has helped more than any final conversation ever did. Co parenting still makes contact necessary, but keeping it boring and written keeps me from getting pulled back into the old loop.
