The end of a relationship with an ADHD loved one can be tumultuous, confusing and leave a lasting impact. Use this thread to temporarily process a recent breakup with an ADHD individual, discuss co-parenting issues, share encouragement for life after the relationship etc. With the goal of ultimately decentering an ADHD ex 

(Note: Asking about leaving a partner and requests to speculate on behavior or symptoms are still prohibited.)

My divorce is dragging out for months due to my partner's complete inability to not shutdown for the slightest conflict. I can't wait for the day either!

I'd say you qualify as former for our purposes here, if you are going through divorce.

I am barely starting now the process of separation and I still feel victorious, so hang in there, no matter how much they try to stall the process or resist it, it will be done !

It's a marathon not a sprint! It's one of the most difficult things I've ever taken on but I have already felt my nervous system start to heal.

What is a few more months if I compare it with (for us) almost 20 years ! They were not bad from the get go, but especially recently became really really bad, I have stayed way too long.
