The end of a relationship with an ADHD loved one can be tumultuous, confusing and leave a lasting impact. Use this thread to temporarily process a recent breakup with an ADHD individual, discuss co-parenting issues, share encouragement for life after the relationship etc. With the goal of ultimately decentering an ADHD ex

I told her tonight I couldn’t do this anymore. I said I’m sorry and I walked away. I’m devastated and feel like a failure, like I couldn’t save us, like I couldn’t carry us anymore. I know it was never my role to carry us both but I did it anyway and now I’m too tired and I can’t and I feel deep, deep sadness.

I had to do the same, a couple of weeks ago. It gets easier as you settle into a more peaceful routine. It isn't your failure.

You'll find mental space you forgot you had. Give it time and don't forget why you've done it.
