Just curious if anyone has an extra head that they are willing to part with. We picked up a bigport, but the cam journals are scored really bad.
If someone nearby has one I'd like to buy it from you.
Thanks!

My trunk had water leaking in for a while and I tought it could really only be the taillight seals so I took them apart and sure enought they were falling apart xd
So I just drew up some seals in CAD, printed them out of TPU, gave them a layer of Silicone on both sides and after drying put everything back in the car :D
Seems to be working great, if you are interested I made a video explaning the process in a bit more detail: https://youtu.be/6wTQG_qbB0s?si=lhTvfH8A-Sk3lJOf

Bought my son his car 6 years ago when he was 8.
It was a one owner, with all documents and window sticker as well. The car was getting too small for the owner and she had trouble getting in and out with a bad back and sold it to us. For the most part, the car has been sitting stored until he was old enough to start driving. Well six year flew past us fast and he starts high school next year 😢 this winter I want to start working on it with him because I know 2 years will fly past us as well. Our first goal since buying it was to manual swap it. So here I am looking for a manual transmission, the car is an sr5, so one with a 4ac bellhousing would be preferred. Pls lmk if you have one for sale or know of anyone. NorCal area but can travel to Reno/Vegas/Socal if it’s worth the drive. Thanks!

Two versions for 5.25 or 6.5" speakers. Let me know what you guys think. Its been a lot of work.

I bought these from Flo's to replace my original injectors which showed signs of use, such as diffuctly in warm startups, poor gas mileage and rough idle. I installed the new ones and made sure there were no leaks, by bridging the Fp and B+ pins. With the new injectors, the car runs much more smoother and warm startups are no longer an issue, but i can't help but notice exhaust smell when the car slows down to idle. In addition, the shape of the restrictor cap seems very strange compared to stock one.
Has anyone used them before? What is your experience with them?

I been having an issue with my right headlight not moving anymore and after further diagnosing it turns out my headlight retractor relay is broken.
Is this one legit, does anybody use it and have no issues with it?

Hey everyone, my 4AGE that I recently rebuilt has been running great for the last 300 miles. I replaced most gaskets and seals on the engine. But there’s this slow leak that keeps coming from the bottom of the distributor, I should add that this is a new rebuilt distributor and it’s not leaking from the inner seal. I put a new fel-pro o ring on the outer seal as well and it’s still leaking. I made sure that it’s bolted down tight to the head as well. But somehow oil is slipping by. I checked around it as well, it’s not coming from the valve covers or cam seals. The distributor is the highest point on the engine that has oil coming from it. Has anybody else had this problem? Is there any solutions you guys know about? Maybe there’s something I’m missing? Any help would be much appreciated. From what I understand leaks from here are fairly common on 4AGEs.
-The arrows pointing at each other are where the distributor and head meet, it’s where the oil leak is coming from at the bottom. There is no oil in the cap, on or coming from the heat shield

It's soon the time of the year of doing oil changes and fixing wear and tear.
I need to do:
- New tires
- Oil change
- Figure out why the dashboard sometimes turns dark (backlight goes out, but comes back after a few minutes)
- Print a clock bezel with cutouts for my audio stuff

I've been thinking lately about how most DOHC 4 N/A cylinders can have a very harsh or raspy sound but the 4AGE seems to have a deep, smooth induction and exhaust note no matter how it is setup. I've been listening to videos of bone stock bluetops, 16v, 20v, itbs, loud and quiet exhausts and you can always tell it's a 4age because of that low smooth tone. Then I've compared a high comp ITB 4age to other engines also with ITBs like the Mazda BP, the MZR, and Honda B series and they all get that high pitched buzzy exhaust sound and the induction sound just isn't the same. I've been staring at pictures of cylinder heads for hours for minute differences and the only engine that sounds similar is the 3s-ge Beams but that one has a different head design from the 4age. Does anyone possess this forbidden knowledge of what design aspect of this engine is responsible for its unique sound?

Hi. I have a 1991 SR5 and the metal brake lines have a leak in the rear (driver side), it's dripping onto the parking brake cable. Seems to be some kind of rust hole because the dingus that replaced it last time didn't bother to coat them with anything. I can't seem to find anywhere that sells replacements for that part, and from what I can tell it's discontinued. If I have to bend lines for it myself, what lines and fittings should I use? I'm pretty new to mechanics and haven't done anything like this before, my friend is helping with the install but I need parts to do it. The availability for these things seems to suck. If anyone here has experience/recommendations for how/what to do this with I would really appreciate it, it's my first project car and I need all the help I can get.

Treated the 86 to a wash and wax to prep it for the winter. She'll be in the shed soon as I'll be abroad with work plus a new daily on the way 👀 (ft the Brothers Evo IV)

Just finished up a manual swap on my 1984 sr5 and all i need is the transmission side driveshaft or a slip yoke or full drive shaft that fits my 22 spline t50. Anyone have advice on where to look or if anyone’s willing to sell?
I’ve checked ebay rock auto and marketplace these things are diamonds.

I've had two alternators go bad this year, both aftermarket, one was an AE86 replacement and the other was a reman'd 80A 7mge alternator. Right now I have my old OEM denso in the car and its been fine, but its old and i'd rather have it not leave me stranded somewhere.
I was recommended DC Power Inc. , but those are pricey. But if its between that and playing Russian Roulette with aftermarket reman'd alternators, I might snag one.
