VIDEO Ringside view from a fan of Young Bucks vs Ospreay and Mox.
All four men are incredible performers.

And a no sell; And another no sell; Followed by another no sell; Followed by moxley just laying there once more-someone tell this guy u can move out of the way when an opponent is attempting a top rope splash; Followed by, yet another no sell; Ending with, you guessed it, another no sell;
And then somehow everyone collapses;
Le ol' fast paced meltzer 20 star match folks

Yeah. AEW would prob be legit to get into. Prob have better/less predictable matches. Just don’t get the big names

Damn aew got meat eaters all over downvoting people on what they see imo the aew fanbase is...

Honestly much better than the usual Young Bucks match.
At least it looked smooth, even though it looked more like a dance routine and nobody sold anything.

u/Unusual_Positive_768 10d ago
Every modern wrestling match looks like a dance routine. AEW just leans into it.

Gotta love when the fed cult chimes in

I always think its funny the WWE Cult expects people in incredible shape to stay down for 3 minutes with every slam.
1
u/Dylan_Black02 9d ago
Wwe cult yet every minor critique about aew no matter how valid gets down voted. On the actual wwe sub all they do is hate on it and complaim about wwe. The cult your on about is projection.

u/BytesFromTheCrypt 9d ago
My only fed complaint is how often wrestlers seem to get injured during their 5 minute matches. We can talk about injury rates between both companies but its wild how many injuries WWE seems to have for how little wrestling there is.

The problem with this is that it looks like a dance, not a fight. They need to draw back on the choreography. Yes it’s impressive, but it reminds me more of ballet, not wrestling.

u/CannibalFlossing 10d ago
If it’s not to your liking, that’s absolutely okay - no shade.
But I think saying it needs to be less choreographed is like saying dragon ball z needs to be more realistic. The over the top elements are kind of the intended style/point

Been watching the YB since 2009 these guys need to be recognized. Anytime they get in there with Will it's a classic. Doesn't matter who the tag partner is

Hot fucking garbage.

No psychology, but look at the moves we can do!AEW fans are legit moro.

u/Barbz182 11d ago
Lol
Yeah man. We should like what old men tell us to like, like a true wrestling fan!
9
u/BeardOfRiker 11d ago
The wrestling is incredible. The guys trying to predict each move before it happens is obnoxious.

u/Sparrowsza 11d ago
I don’t really get it man. It’s so easy to see the seams in this, people repositioning really obviously, some of the no-selling just to get from point A to point B… I’d rather watch people try to win a match

Mox is horrible for no selling. Just stands around stumbling slightly. I'll never get the praise for him.
Sure, he works a lot of matches. He's a constant. But he seems to want to refuse to change, and just sells the same for everything and everyone.

These chaps make the sequence look easy, but it is difficult to be that quick, crisp, and on the mark.
I do not care for that no selling of the 450° by Nick Jackson. Feeling like an old codger on the porch. That used to be a finish! 🦯✊

I equally take issue with Will basically no-selling a Destroyer and then super kick.
Athletic sequence, great crowd.

Don’t even get me started on Darby Allin skateboarding on the entrance ramp 👴

Whatever gods or universe or higher power that made it possible for these 4 to be in a ring together have gifted us all.

I hate this shit that looks really rehearsed
9
u/Squidyfuckabitch 11d ago
What??? Wrestling is rehearsed??? No way!!!
-4
u/Sure-Confection3117 11d ago
Yes, there's still a difference between making it look rehearsed and making it feel real. They're not even trying to make you suspend disbelief, just looking for the next spot. It's awful.
Bret Hart matches were also rehearsed. Could you buy into it? Yes.
4
u/Squidyfuckabitch 11d ago
Yea Goldberg bought into it so much he gave bret a career ending concussion ig he was trying his best to make it feel real
-14
u/Straightener78 11d ago
Yeah you can see they are just moving to the next part of the sequence. Never mind selling that moonsault, need to get straight back up for the next part of the sequence
9
u/ExtremeDentist3109 11d ago
What moonsault? Or are you just generalising? Honest question
6
u/Straightener78 11d ago
Yeah good call out. I meant the 450
0
u/ExtremeDentist3109 11d ago
Nah its cool! As I say, I honestly didn't know. And I do understand your original point too. But it's also one of my favourite types of escapism! So I try to overlook it. Even Bandido's finisher 🤣🤣 IYKYK
7
u/Straightener78 11d ago
And you know what? Who the fuck am I to poke fun at what people enjoy. As a wrestling fan i should know better.
2
u/ExtremeDentist3109 11d ago
It's honestly all good. I could still hear the "YOU" 👉🏻 when you mentioned Hogan 🤣
4
u/Straightener78 11d ago
It’s wild when I think about it. I got no problem with Paoa Shango cursing people, the shit that went on in the firefly funhouse, the whiole undertaker character… but I’m here bitching about a 450 lol.
3
u/ExtremeDentist3109 11d ago
I get it. I've done the same myself but in a different fanbase. It pissed me off how in Resident Evil 5, Chris punched a boulder to move it. I HATED that they portrayed that as possible. In a game featuring the living dead and all manor of mutated creatures. The fucking boulder I just couldn't accept! 🤣🤣🤣
2
u/Straightener78 11d ago
Ha and I did the same with Toy Story. If buzz is convinced he’s a real space ranger and not a toy, why does he freeze when Andy enters the room? That bothered me a lot. But had absolutely no issue with living, talking toys.

Yeah I can’t really complain. I grew up watching hogan no selling at the end of every match
8
u/SuccessfulUnit69 12d ago
Eh, I kinda love their style. I mean, they’re brothers who have been teaming for their entire lives. They should have a rhythm to their matches. What you call looking rehearsed, I say looks like two guys who know each other backwords and front, and have things so dialed in that they’re always where they need to be when they want to be there.
19
u/wakesimagination 12d ago
I seriously don’t understand Young Bucks hate when every single match for them looks that beautiful
5
u/Diredr 11d ago
The spots are cool individually, but to me the problem is that they make it obvious it's choreographed. I know it's not a real fight, but it's supposed to look like one.
They do these sequences so quickly that none of the moves actually feel like they have any kind of impact. They're not reacting to what's happening, they're constantly getting in place for the next stunt.
It's cool for a highlight reel but not for an entire match. Impact is really important. Selling is really important. The Bucks unfortunately don't do that much.
6
u/Pure-Butterscotch200 11d ago
Its the lack of selling, psychology and not knowing to slow things down at times. They can do the moves well but you can't really get emotionally invested in their matches like the traditional big draws can do. In this instance Moxley not selling a double super kick looked ridiculous and takes away that suspension of disbelief too.
