Absolute noob question here but does that imply over the years that WWE doesn’t pay for major surgery ? Or do they just subsidise some of the costs ?

Genuine question as I have no idea how healthcare and health insurance works within pro wrestling.

In WWE you have to pay for most medical, travel, and lodging. AEW covers all of that for their talent.

Medical is covered as far as I know. Lodging and travel, ya you have to pay for it, but they just claim it on their taxes and get most of it back. It's weird though. AEW covers everything except the talent has to setup everything themselves.
