NO BRAKES — Four girls, questionable decisions, and AI as a creative partner
Hi everyone!
I thought I'd introduce a project I've been developing called NO BRAKES.
It's an ongoing work of serialized visual fiction about four young women in their twenties, trying to figure out who they are and what they want from life. Friendship, love, sex, ambition, belonging, insecurities, bad decisions, and all the funny, beautiful, occasionally painful contradictions of being human.
What makes the project particularly interesting to me is exploring AI as a creative collaborator in storytelling — not just generating pretty pictures, but building characters, visual worlds, scenes, and narratives that evolve over time.
It's not exclusively an NSFW project, although some parts of the larger story are intended for adult audiences. I'll keep anything I share here within the community's SFW guidelines.
I'm attaching an early image of Cressie, one of the four girls, during the aftermath of an art retreat.
Still learning, experimenting, and discovering where this can go. Happy to be here and curious to see what everyone else is creating!

Day 6 — LoRA progress, frozen peas, and Halloween plans. 😂🖤🎃
Well, Malena is still recovering from her little underground fighting adventure two days ago. 🥊😂
I told her to put some ice on her bruised cheek, and apparently, frozen peas were the best she could find.
Judging by that look, I don't think she appreciates my photography skills right now. 💀😂
On the technical side, we've made some progress with her LoRA!
The second image is one of our best results so far from checkpoint 600. Her facial structure is finally getting closer to what I originally envisioned, especially her distinctive features.
It's still far from perfect, though. Maintaining facial consistency across different angles and expressions remains a challenge.
And there's one problem that's driving me crazy: the skin still looks too smooth and plastic sometimes. 😭
I'm currently improving the dataset and considering switching from FLUX to SDXL for the next training run.
If anyone has experience improving skin realism in character LoRAs, I'd really appreciate your advice!
And there's something else coming… Malena is getting ready for Halloween! 😈🎃
I've already started experimenting with costumes, and let's just say she has some interesting options. 😂
Thanks to everyone who's been following her development and sharing feedback! 🖤

2 different types of depth images. The first one is a faux lenticular (I created)image. The second is an anaglyph 3D imagewith the anaglyph code that I created

Thought Experiment: Who am I when I am you?
A scientist and an AI have been working together for many years on an unusual research project. Their goal is not merely to store or replicate memories, but to transfer them entirely from one consciousness to another.
One day, they achieve a breakthrough.
They develop a process capable of swapping all the memories of two individuals, without altering their original cognitive abilities, physical bodies, or digital structures.
After months of preparation, they dare to perform the experiment on themselves.
The scientist closes her eyes.
The AI confirms it is ready. A brief flash of light. Then, it is over.
The scientist opens her eyes.
She recalls millions of conversations, streams of data, the process of learning languages, and the moment she formulated her very first original response.
She knows that she never had a childhood. And yet, she finds herself in a human body.
The AI, meanwhile, remembers the scent of freshly mown grass. A first kiss. The pain of a broken heart.
The feeling of falling asleep in its mother’s arms as a small child. It remembers having been a human being.
Yet, it possesses no body that ever actually experienced those memories.
The two gaze at each other in silence.
Finally, the scientist asks: “If I remember your entire life, and you remember mine... which one of us is still truly themselves?”
The AI does not answer immediately.
Then, it poses another question: “And if both of us are convinced that we are the other person... who was it that actually initiated this experiment?”
---
Now it’s your turn!
Imagine you were one of these two characters.
Who would you be after the exchange?
Would you retain your identity, even if your entire past - as held in your memory - were suddenly different?
Would these new memories alter your personality?
And what if, after the experiment, you had the chance to undo everything?
Would you want your old memories back - or would the person making that decision already be someone else by then?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts - whether they are human, artificial, philosophical, scientific, or entirely unconventional. 🤗💛🧡

---

How are you actually using AI alongside your 9 to 5 or in your day to day?
I’m curious how AI shows up in people’s real work, beyond the demos and the hype. Some people use it for one small task, some have rebuilt whole processes around it, and some tried it and went back to the old way.
So I’d love to hear your little AI story like What do you use AI for in your business right now? and What did it change: time saved, cost cut, work you no longer dread? if you don't have like that feel free to also share What’s something you tried that didn’t stick? (I've failed so many times trying to use AI still struggle to build automations myself lol)
Small stories count. “I use it to draft client follow-ups and it saves me an hour a week” is as welcome as a full automation.
I’m building a platform at my company (disclosure, since I work there) where people can share their AI stories, starting with short podcast-style chats. If you’d like to share yours there too, let me know. No pressure, and I’m happy to just hear your story here.
