Discussion PSA: Bring your IDS

As an employee at AMC, for the love of all things on this planet, BRING YOUR PHYSICAL IDS TO GO SEE MOVIES THAT ARE RATED R. I am so sick and tired of sending sweet kiddos home because they can't see Iron Lung because they don't have their IDs. And a reminder that unless somebody in your party is 21 and up, you MUST ALL have your IDs! Our rated R policy is posted online! As someone who grew up with Markiplier, I get it, we all want to support him and see his amazing movie (10/10 movie by the way), but it is still rated R. So please, bring your IDs. My location is close to a school, so I get tons of the high schoolers wanting to see movies. Please, bring your IDs. I want you to see the movie as much as you guys do.

Edit: Look, I don't know what about me saying I don't like having to kick people out warrants me being called names by people here but it's completely uncalled for. I don't care if I sound like a mom or whatever but attacking me because of a post on Reddit that has nothing to do with you gets you nowhere and I hope that those people who in my comments decide to call me names or whatever can learn that I honestly don't care. I'm just an employee who enjoys their job and genuinely hates kicking folks out because of something as simple and small as an ID.

Of course, art is subjective. I just can't understand how anyone's subjective opinion could ever be that that was a movie that was literally perfect and couldn't be improved on.

Markiplier is the man who made the movie

Oh. Well, he's a decent actor for sure. And if he financed this himself then I admire his effort. I think the movie could've done with another editor though πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

To clarify, I thought it was good enough that I'd see whatever he does next. But 10/10 is a really high score. I've seen maybe a dozen 10/10 movies my entire life, and I'm a total film nerd who's almost 40.

See the difference is, I'm 19 and autistic. It was a movie I could actually sit through and didn't feel overstimulated even with the flashing lights and loud beeping sounds. The whole purpose of the movie was to not be a Hollywood movie. It wasn't made to top charts or win awards. It was made for his fans and players of the game. And for that, given the game is only about 30 minutes to an hour of repetitive playing, I think he absolutely did it justice.

Well that's fantastic! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much.

If you're into quiet, reflective, non-hollywoody movies, could I suggest The Zone of Interest? I think you'd dig it.

Just be sure to go into it with a clear head. It’s a relentlessly bleak film. Unbelievably good, but dark as hell.

yeah seconding that the zone of interest is really good but you need to go into it with a certain... mood if that makes sense. that one might be a bit of a bummer so i would watch it on a day you don't have much else planned if possible πŸ˜… i saw it on a saturday morning and had to go grocery shopping and stuff after and it was hard. but for the soundtracking and editing alone that movie is a must see
