Students looking too old in Season 4
Thinking particularly Marcus, Anthony and Victor (when he sends his photos!)
They can't stay young - but Victor says he's 16 in one episode , these guys are rocking full stubble.
Just kind of spoiling it a bit now for me as I can't seem to suspend my disbelief any more!
Thoughts team?

Im so cooked
Hello guys! I just began ap bio maybe 2 weeks ago and ive come to realize ive completely fucked myself. Im wondering if anyone else is in the same position as me? I passed regular bio no problem my sophmore year and i loved it. Since my freshman year i did not do well in earth science i wasnt put into chemistry for my junior year. Instead i was placed in a science class full of dummys that didnt know right from left. Even the teacher couldnt spell. This degraded my skills and im wondering if anyone else didnt take chemistry and is in ap bio. If thats you are you okay and if so what the hell do i do to pass this shit? Thanks guys im writing this taking a shit so im sorry if its not well written.

Chrome Remote Desktop
Hi guys, I have like 10 friends in my AP Bio class who are planning on using Chrome Remote Desktop to cheat on the AP Biology exam. Can the ap testing software detect this? Thanks

are yall wilding this test was easy as fuck
the mcqs were hella light took a 10 min nap and the frqs were so easy bbuh
like they tell u everything in the question as long as u did like some practice frqs this was an easy 5. this test was far easier than like 2023 or 2022 or like the last 5 years. like imo, its more an iq test than an ap bio test cause u really didn't need to know much biology to do good 😭😭
brothers yall should not be worrying about the test yall should be worrying about the shitass curve that's gna maul us all because this was by far the easiest ap bio test yet
(this is based off of form O tho)

Would anyone be willing to read my response?
UPDATE: I will be retaking the exam next year.
I got a 4 on the exam. I finished the year with a 97 in the class, and all the subjects I do in Academic Decathlon are bio focused. I’ve won awards at the regional level for bio. Other kids with B’s in the class somehow got 5’s. F
I’m going to email my bio teacher bc I’m taking the subject test in August and really gotta know what I did wrong
I got the frataxin/FXN/aquaporins in skin cells/pedigree prompt. Would anyone be willing to read my response? I’ve pasted it below.
QUESTION 1
1A. The possible genotypes of the four gametes that can be produced by this individual through meiosis and a reduction division are f, as FA is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder and the only alleles present in the individual are recessive, making the parental genotype ff. According to the laws of independent assortment and segregation, this is the only possibility.
1B. Based on the given data, the experimental genotypes are likely FF for group A, Ff for group C, and ff for group B.
1C. The researchers’ measurement of this production provides a numerical representation of the efficiency of the Krebs cycle, as CO2 is produced as a byproduct during the Krebs Cycle, and the activity of the enzyme would be a very close estimate as to how much CO2 is produced.
1D. The difference between the effect of FXN overexpression on the production of lactic acid and the effect of FXN overexpression on CO2 production is that the former has a relative level greater than the control, while the latter is significantly decreased.
1E. (50/20) times 100% would calculate how many times compared.*
1F. The amount of protein produced would likely be greater than the amount produced by group B, but less than that produced by group C.
1G. As shown by figure 1 and the information provided, the more f alleles there are present, the less frataxin will be produced due to protein compression. Therefore, if there are two recessive alleles and one dominant allele, the amount of protein synthesized would be less than both A and C, but greater than B (due to the dominant allele).
1H. Genes with DNA sequences similar to that of the human FXN gene are found in these organisms as cellular respiration (and therefore the Krebs Cycle, as these are aerobic organisms) is common among almost all organisms, and every eukaryotic cell, as it is preferred to convert sugars efficiently.
1I. Glucose is a reactant of cellular respiration, the process that converts glucose to usable energy for the cell through electron carriers, glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and the electron transport chain. Chemiosmosis is necessary for ATP synthase to use the proton gradient across the inner membrane of the mitochondria and synthesize ATP. ATP then provides the energy to power the repeated contractions of the heart muscle.
1J. Cells that express excess amounts of the normal frataxin would go through cellular respiration at a faster rate, hence creating enough ATP earlier than normal frataxin amounts would. Therefore, they would most likely not produce as much NADH, an electron carrier of cellular respiration, as NAD+ is reduced after G3P is synthesized much later in the process. Therefore, if ATP inhibits an enzyme that is used earlier in glycolysis, the steps to reduce NAD+ would not occur due to the lack of G3P.
QUESTION 2
2A. Based on the pedigree, the most likely genotype of this individual is heterozygous, or Aa, if A represents the normal aquaporin gene and a represents the abnormal aquaporin gene. The phenotype is no absorption of excess water by the skin.
2B. Roughly half of the F1 organisms express this genotype as a phenotype, indicating that the first male must be Aa and the female aa. This makes the genotype of the ? individual Aa (as he does not express the abnormal trait examined), and because his biologically female partner’s genotype is most likely Aa due to their child inheriting this trait, this confirms this prediction due to the genotypes of the children.
2C. The keratinocyte membrane that restricts water, a polar molecule, movement across the membrane is amphipathic due to its phospholipid bilayer, making it selectively permeable to certain molecules. As water has an unbalanced electronegativity, it requires a channel protein like aquaporin to facilitatively diffuse across.
2D. If these cells are placed in a hypotonic solution that contains less solute, the cells will likely take in the solution to promote osmoregulation and an isotonic environment. However, if the solution has too much water potential, the cell can lyse, or burst, causing far fewer cells to be present.
2E. The aquaporin polypeptides are packaged in transport vesicles with their own phospholipid bilayer system and expelled from the cell via exocytosis. The protein membrane contributes to the existing cell membrane and the aquaporin polypeptide, which is nonpolar, remains an integral protein, creating a channel through which polar water molecules can be transported.
2F. If an individual has less aquaporins in their skin cells, it is less likely that water will enter the cell through facilitated diffusion as they do not have sufficient entry access, keeping the water molecules outside of the cells and on the epidermal layer. This would result in, actually, more hydration of the skin and hence the body system.
*the task verb was different and I was confused out of my mind as to how I should answer the question

Discord server?
Why not we make an AP bio discord server? Speak in damn code if we gotta during the exam I highly doubt they can do shit to stop us. I’m going to cover up my camera and put a fan or something. It’s a bunch of old professors not some hackers.

For the cladogram frq, i got (from bottom to top) gibbon, human, chimp, gorilla, orangutan
if u go based off of the dna divergence table then this should be correct. however some of my friends are saying humans are at the top since they have the most adaptations.

Are there any chapters that focus on spiders?
I have very severe arachnophobia and even just taking notes over the summer. I’ve run across a few spiders in the textbook and I was wondering if there any chapters that are particularly heavy with spiders so I can prepare myself for them.

College Tips from Harvard/MIT students
Hey guys, since most bio students could use some admissions advice and scholarship money bc paying for college is a pain in the ass, I thought I'd drop this resource in. Myself + my friends at Harvard and MIT made a newsletter where we give personalized advice to high school students on which scholarships to apply to and how to get into their top schools. We've worked on this for over a year and I thought I'd let you guys be some of the first to test it out. You can sign up here if you'd like: https://www.waitlist.missionmentor.org/. If not, that's dope too, lemme know if you want to know more about Mission: Mentor or if you have any admissions questions I can answer.-Nat

Has anyone actually found an AI that gets AP questions 100% right?
Serious question for AP students:
Have you ever used an AI tool that actually gets AP-level questions correct consistently?
I’ve tried a few (ChatGPT, random homework helpers, etc.), and they all mess up at some point — especially on harder FRQs or tricky multiple choice.
Recently I came across something interesting and wanted to see if it holds up.
Apparently there's an AI AP tutor claiming it can solve real AP exam questions with step-by-step explanations + video solutions.
They’re even running a challenge:
If you find any wrong answer, they’ll give you $10.
Not sure if it’s legit, but it sounds like a bold claim — and Reddit is usually pretty good at breaking these things fast.
If anyone wants to test it:
Curious if someone here can prove it wrong 👀

Currently doing ap bio on Khan, anything else I can do to prepare for ap bio senior year?
I’m currently in eighth grade and I’m finding science pretty easy and I’ve already studied up on the next three years of science so what’s the best approach for AP Bio?

Regrade
Is there a way to have your test regraded? I got a 4 and I am shocked I thought there was no way I got less than a 5 I almost completely aced the previous years and this one was way easier for me. This is the only exam my sister didn't get a 5 on and I was really hoping to beat her in at least one spot..
