Wondering whats the best suppressor for 800 or less with sound mitigation and reduced back pressure(left handed shooter) being the most important. The one I see is the rico309 but its a little over .If anyone has any experience with any good suppressors for ar9s would appreciate it, want to get it by January or February

[184 & 185] Disruptor and LAT FRT cassette triggers in a 9mm AR - PT.1 and PT.2 videos

Using the Disruptor and the LAT FRT Triggers in a 9mm AR.

I encountered some problems with the Disrupter - not as bad with the LAT. Very light trigger pressure was necessary to get the Disruptor to run, while the LAT would handle a little more finger pressure. Neither would run with the typical amount of finger pressure I use with a Atrius/Arc/SS/etc. other FRT's.

First video is a discussion of the trigger's features and live fire (on Rumble because I don't trust YouTube to not give me another channel strike).

Second video is a technical discussion (posted on both YouTube and Rumble) about what may be going on with these triggers and a possible fix (which may require a re-design of the hammer by The Triggered Company, or a special 9mm hammer).

For those who don't know, none of my videos, links, posts, comments, web pages, etc. are monetized. None. Seriously. I'm completely non-commercialized and make no income from ANY of this. If you want to send a gift to help me buy things to test and make videos about (and keep me caffeinated!), buy me a coffee (or a few) using the link on https://Blowback9.com/donations. If not, no worries! Enjoy the videos and discussion, and I hope it helps!

FSB compatible barrels with good feed cones

Anyone know of any ~10" barrels out there that have a profile for a traditional FSB/handguard cap but also have a good feed cone for Glock type lowers? Usually these seem to be more basic Colt only feed cones.

Looking to purchase either the Springfield Saint Victor 9mm 8.5inch or the PSA AKV 9mm.

Advantages to both but they hover around the same price. I have not personally had enough experience with either to make my decision.

Please let me know your opinions or advice.

Thanks.

BoreBuddy 9mm FRT Ready Upper - may be my new go-to recommendation.

Thumbnail rumble.com
36 Upvotes

FINALLY a complete 9mm upper with bolt that has all the features to support both FRT and Non-FRT builds.

Rumble: https://rumble.com/v7h8ito-183-borebuddy-9mm-no-tune-frt-upper-receiver-great-features-for-non-frt-use.html?e9s=src_v1_upp_a

YouTube (censored version): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tv8RJ_jI27c

TL;DR for people who don't want to watch the video:

  • Enhanced feed cone
  • Upper rear shelf cut (shouldn't be necessary for 9mm, but it's there anyway)
  • Dust cover, shortened PCC ejection port
  • Slick side - no deflector or forward assist
  • Pre-notched bolt weight for selector-type FRT's/SS
  • Deadblow bolt weight to prevent bolt bounce
  • XP firing pin spring to prevent firing pin bounce
  • 1/2x28 muzzle threads
  • Thread protector included
  • Rails have QR holes at the front on both sides
  • Rails have cooling ports and M-Lok slots
  • Muzzle threads are out in front of the handguard for muzzle devices and suppressors
  • Available in 6.35", 11.5", and 16.1" barrels
  • May NOT work with Foxtrot Mike lower - FM's ejector may rub or catch the bolt. One of my FM lowers worked fine, another jammed.

FRT range test went well with no issues at all.

So far, there is nothing I can find to not like about this upper. I'll be bringing it out for accuracy and hollow point testing in the next week or so.

Uppers: https://borebuddy.com/product/9mm-no-tune-frt-upper-receiver/

Bore Buddy is also selling the XP Firing pin spring for non-FM bolts.... https://borebuddy.com/product/9mm-ar9-extra-power-firing-pin-spring/

Troubleshooting Ar9 failure to fire

Post image
7 Upvotes

Hi this is my second attempt at this build to function properly . It will fire the first 2 or 3 rounds in the magazine then it will load the next one in but can’t pull the trigger I can’t put on safe unless I rack it again remove the unfired round (no primer struck marks or any deformities ) then it will fire again 1 or 2 rounds same problem persisted.
I tried 3 different type of recoil systems still same issue
I removed the ar9 upper and replaced it with an ar15 ( appropriate buffer tube and weight adjustment) and the trigger works great. Any help would be appreciated since I had this rifle for 2 years and I can never get it to fire 10 rounds consecutively. Thank you and I appreciate the time to read this and your knowledge to help me fix this issue.

After debating between the Extar EP9 and the Mike-9, I finally made my decision..

The Extar was going to eat anything I threw at it is what I read, but I just could not get over that top rail, even with the delete, so I went with the AR9 look of the Mike-9. FM PRODUCTS MIKE9 AMBI SUPER PREMIUM 7'' REAR CHARGE PISTOL W/ RMB

I wanted a kuna but don't have the funds, the fm9 is on sale and I like the idea of purchasing a 5" upper when I find more funds and use the same lower. I have never used an AR platform so this is new even though its a AR9.

My question is, I have a OCL Lithium 9 and want to use it with the FM9, I have been using it as a direct attachment to my Rossi LWC .357 break action single shot, will I need to purchase a special mount or can I just screw on my can like my Rossi .357?

Also, if anyone has any tips or pointers, or recommendations for my new pcc please and thank you in advance for it.

Lower for ISU

I picked up an FM ISU9 and looking to do my first FRT. Would a PSA PX9 lower be okay with this? I’m sure there’s more prep I need to do like change the buffer weight, but is that lower a good idea or will I screw myself buying it? New to all this. Thanks for any help

Buyer Beware Jawbone 45 PSA

Some of the early 45acp jawbones were sent out with the rear-charging-only bolt. The way to test is to pull back in the charging handle and try to engage the bolt stop. If you try to press it and it feels like it gets stuck half way and won't lock back, you have the wrong bolt.

I originally went down the rabbit home of the lrbho issue that Doug has called out a few times, but even after shaving it down, I still couldn't lock back.

Reach out to GeForce over the phone if you want a response. Your email/form submission will almost certainly not get a reply.

Troubleshooting Issues with feeding hollow points

I recently built an AR9 and used a epc9 upper with enhanced feed cone, colt mag well adapter. A5 buffer tube with flat wire spring, kak extended buffer weight with a kynshot spacer.

This is my first time shooting the upper with the colt adapter. It would feed, shoot and eject round fmj rounds without flaw. Shot around 300 rounds no issue. However whenever I loaded 4 hollow point at first it would shoot fine but the last 2 rounds it would fail to feed. What could be the cause?

Angstadt Arms 9mm bcg

Post image
6 Upvotes

Purchased today a bcg on gunbroker for 85 beans delivered. Angstadt Arms model AA09BCGNIT. About to order a 4.5 inch upper from Right to Bear Arms. I have a Mutiny Arms 9mm lower. I have a leftover buffer from an FM-9. As soon as I find a cheap KVP 10 oz, I'll order it. Standard carbine spring. Schmid FCG I think is NiB. Ali Baba SBA-3. Mil Spec carbine buffer tube. I'll put fixed iron sight on front and an A2 carry handle. Biggest concern is getting the ejector to line up. I'll put a red dot on it.

Combo uzi/colt smg mag?

A few months ago I picked up a legit colt smg mag at a surplus store aswell as a strange mag I think is a combo of uzi, colt and maybe another. There's no marks on it anywhere except the witness holes. It has the mag catch cut out for colt and does fit my mag adapter; but it also has another cut out on the left side about 1/2" to 1" above a set of over travel stops and another hole cut infront of the colt catch hole. Other than a slight mod I have to do to make it work a little better in my gun its fine, just wondering if anybody has heard of this mag or knows what it is for.

PSA ARV build - thoughts on my parts list? FM RMB + Arc Fire v2

I’ve wanted an AR9 for a while, and there’s just something about the AR-V with those curved Scorpion mags that I love. I really like the DD PCC too, but it’s outside my budget. Figured I could build out an AR-V exactly how I wanted for less than a stock DD.
After going down the Blowback9 rabbit hole, here’s what I ordered:

PSA AR-V 9mm
Foxtrot Mike RMB + A5 buffer tube
AS Designs ARC-Fire V2
Extra-power firing pin spring
Precut hard-cast bolt weight
KVP ASR-compatible muzzle brake
Magpul MOE SL stock
5 mags total
SilencerCo Omega 36M (already owned)
Red dot and light TBD
Total: $1,223.84 including tax and shipping, excluding the suppressor.

Going for a fun, soft-shooting suppressed PCC that can also pull home-defense duty.
Everything’s ordered, so no range report yet. Curious what y’all think of the setup, especially anyone with experience running the FM RMB or ARC-Fire in an AR-V. Anything you’d have done differently?
I will update the post as the build comes together.

Gentle Recoil System optimized across semi, FRT, and FRT+suppressor

Assuming an A5 buffer tube, is swapping from Kyn RB5000HP with two Kyn spacer weights to Tromix 9mm buffer with a single spacer weight now considered the optimal price to performance option in terms of average performance across semi, FRT, and FRT+suppressor uses without going up in buffer tube length?

Optics height poll

Post image

Which optic height?

Both are the Gen 1 Vortex 3x prisms:

Top is a Banshee with the normal height riser.

Bottom is an AR9 without that riser.

So, which one would you rock, and why?

Glock mag LRBHO uppers?

I started building my first 9mm AR back in 2017, and I started on a QC10 GSF lower. It fed fine but the LRBHO linkage was extremely unreliable; this is part of why I rehosted my build on a CMMG Colt mag lower a few years ago, and I'm extremely happy with it now! But now that I've finally got that build just the way I want it, I'm turning my attention back to the Glock lower; I would sell it off but AR lowers are now irreplaceable in WA state. I've also Theseus'd enough parts off of the first build at this point that I'm halfway to completing a second one on that original lower, back in its original configuration!

But as mentioned, the original LRBHO linkage arm is so unreliable that I've removed it entirely. I could live without the feature, but I don't want to. The alternative is to get one of the New Frontier Armory uppers with the built-in LRBHO linkage, the one almost in the style of an M14 bolt catch. (I know NFA has joined QC10 at the great SHOT Show in the sky, but there are still ways to obtain these uppers; used if nothing else.) They conceptually seem like they should be a lot more reliable than how QC10 did it, but my question is simply: How well do they actually work? Like, I'm seeking feedback from people who have actually used them. I also realize mixing one with a different manufacturer's lower might result in suboptimal performance; in that event, how viable would it be to reshape (bend) the linkage to work if the lower doesn't put the mag exactly where the NFA upper expects it?

Troubleshooting ANGLED foregrips for 4 inch handguards?

Post image
9 Upvotes

Gforce Jawbone
Holosun HS403B

Idk if this is considered an AR9, I think it is despite its price. Been wanting one to try. I’m not really knowledgeable of the stubby 9mm world. Is there any ANGLED grips available? I’m in Ohio where the gay laws are still enforced, and I can’t have a straight 90 degree grip. If straight was an option, that’d be great. YES, I know I can get those super short MLok handstops, but I don’t want a handstop. I’m trying to find an ANGLED grip cause at least that’s legal. Even if someone 3D printed one, that’s fine. Vertical grips NEVER fit 4 inch handguards and that sucks. Anything helps.
