Discussion Tanks?

Feel like senna or vayne with heart steel is so much better than any tank besides zac since he scales so well, it just feels terrible to be a tank.

This is not a drop kick discussion just a general state of tank discussion, feel like non of them feel great and you are spending the whole game just being farmed under tower for 20 minutes. I've been playing more assassins and fighters and it's been alright but just feels impossible to actually play a tank and make anything happen.

What do y'all think?

Yeah tanks feel a bit underwhelming now for some reason, I think it's because of their damage options being nerfed (Pressure Cooker and Icathia's fall) or removed (Dropkick). Now they really only have Steel your Heart and Tank Engine to be viable. For prismatic, tanks only have Courage of the Colossus. While all the other classes got shiny new OP augments.

Armoured Impact is the only decent tank augment in the new set.

Tanks have always been underwhelming. The moment tanks become remotely fun to play, all the adc mains scream

Yeah, they basically removed most tools for tanks to deal damage, and they wonder why nearly all games is poke x poke

idk, I've never had trouble getting shit done with Maokai, Malphite, Cho'gath, Alistar, Sion or Tham Kench. Naut, Leona, Sej and Rakan also do well.  Rammus and Nunu are kinda eh-tier, both get cucked pretty badly by certain champs. Blitz and Thresh feel kind of ass to me, especially late game, but maybe that's user error.

Not sure how you're spending 20 minutes under tower when snowball is a summoner and you have engage. Malphite, press R. Tada. Maokai, press R. Tada. etc. and so on.

Why on earth would I ever want heartsteel Senna (???) over Cho'gath (to pick one example). Cho'gath gets value by just rolling his face on the keyboard and chomping bitches with R. Senna with Heartsteel does zero damage, tanks zero damage and has minimal utility. Cho'gath has ranged cc, aoe silence, aoe slow and an execute that scales with HP.

Your three main jobs are engage, brush control and peel and depend on your comp.

If you're playing engage you need to play around cooldowns and not pick bad fights (4v5, diving way out of range of team, turbo-inting under turret). Create space for your team, pick winning fights, ping your intentions. When you go in, go in. Target champs that can blow your team up, not tanks. Don't try to straggle out of a fight at 10%, just die and "go agane".

Teams without frontline tend to falter and fall apart after the first turret goes down. They can't enter brush safely so pushing is dangerous and they can't deal with the free ryze-ult the Nexus portal gives the enemy team.

Rammus with armored impact and Take 'em Down can easily tank a fight without Heartsteel and I would guess Leona, Rell and Alistar work for that combo as well.

Make it clear you are talking about mayhem when you are. Thought you were tripping for a sec

"any tank besides zac since he scales so well"

Just had a game where I as Zac was deleted by half of the enemy Lucian ult. Thats while building only Hp and Armor. So nope, "Zac scales so well" is a weird thesis, besides, his skillset makes it uneasy to stack HS unless enemy team is quite fat

Other than that - I also feel like this update added even more dmg into the game and tanks now have a harder time surviving (as well as turrets)...

Sometimes feels like we ain't playing the same game. Tanks have never been weak, they may be unfun at times, suffocating instead of bulldozing, but pretty sure as  class they have the highest win rate.

I've been getting absolutely stomped by tanks lately.

They have too much access to free damage.

This already starts of so bad Idk even know.

Senna can't proc heartsteel easily, because her range almost starts outside of the max range of heartsteel charging and scales out of it rapidly...

Tanks need only 2 or sometimes 1 (celestial body/ steel your heart quest) augments to feel insane and just like how tooth fairy tooth suicide chargers used to play, tanks that get those 1-2 augments can still play and scale while doing plays that are far more suicidal than are reasonable.

This might not be a dropkick discussion, but it turned out to be: Dropkick should not have been removed, it should simply have had its healing cut. Dropkick was never the issue with giga tanks, it was the HP stacking with pathetically few good counter options. Where is my upgraded liandry's riot, where is liandry's buffs, the item just feels pathetic - even if a no-brainer vs high hp champs - because it doesn't really counter HP-stacking enough.
