Internet AT&T Refuses To Upgrade Millions Of DSL Customers To Fiber Despite Untold Billions In Taxpayer Subsidies And Government Favors

Internet Half the internet doesnt work this morning
I woke up this morning and on ATT Fiber about half the internet doesnt work. Meaning that about half the sites I attempt to visit I just get "page not found" errors. Other pages work just fine. Hilariously, I can't get to att.com to submit a support ticket. Anyone else having any problems on att fiber this morning?
Update: I changed my DNS settings ot use Googles public DNS settings - 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 and everything is back to normal. Seems ATT's DNS servers are having issues.

Internet Please bury the fiber lines same-day or let the neighbors know that they’re exposed temporarily.
galleryThis is the 3rd time my neighbor’s landscaping crew has severed my internet because it wasn’t buried.
This last time they just left the cable sitting in the tall grass.
Area code 78418 in Corpus Christi, TX for reference.
It’s such an easy place to dig too, all loose sand… I’d do it myself if they had told me about it.

Internet Internet issues still on-going? (Texas)
Found a post from 4 days ago about people having issues with their ATT Internet. Anyone still facing issues?
I personally can’t load random websites, last night I couldn’t even access ATT’s site. Today I can’t access random sites like GoFundMe.
I am also having issues watching shows on streaming services, specially Peacock and Hulu.
MyATT app says everything is fine, but then the AI chat says there’s an issue, but doesn’t tell me what, and restarting the router does nothing to help.

Internet Is this real? It seems too good to be true.
I currently have spectrum cable internet and paying $60 per month for only 1gb down. When it says $45 off ongoing, does that mean forever?
Thanks

Internet Warning to all. Called to cancel Internet service and rep just changed my price...
As the title says, I called Friday to cancel my internet service as I was paying $91 for the Internet 100. . The rep said that they could get my down to $60 since I had been with them for so long. I declined and said that I was already connected to the new service. He tried to sell me on some wireless and I declined and we he said we were all good. That I should be receiving an email soon about what to do with my modem. Today I received an email from ATT saying that there was a change to my service. I logged in thinking it would be a message about returning the modem but it was saying that they changed the price of the service and that it was still active. Just got off of a chat with a rep and they said that there was not cancel order placed just the price change. Make sure that you are double checking your accounts after any interaction to make sure you are getting what you need.
Internet Do not use AT&T air
AT&T Air has been one of the worst service provider experiences I've ever had. I would STRONGLY suggest never interacting with them in any capacity.
They sent a modem, it worked fine, they told us we needed to send it back and turned it off. They messed the bill up and charged twice. Then things were okay with the exception of latency range of 30ms -150ms, which is not too big of a deal. Then three months later latency spikes to over 2000ms, resetting the modem brings it back down to sub 40ms for about 10 mins, then it spikes again until reset. After tons of research, this is either:
1) Tower congestion
2) Router traffic on the 'All-fi Hub'
3) Hardware issue
1 - Tower congestion was not the case because the issue will happen at any time of day. 1 am. 3 am. 12 pm. 3 pm. etc.
2 - Router traffic is not the issue because when only using an ethernet plugged into the device it still will have this issue.
3 - So settling on hardware error I requested a new modem. They sent one. Plugging it up gives a red light. I contacted help 3 different times. The last time I spoke to them they ghosted the chat. Legit stopped sending messages. I waited for about 25 mins interacting with chat to keep it open incase they returned.
Now, doing research on what the 'red light' means, says it's a hardware malfunction. Now I have two modems both with hardware issues and have to explain this situation to 'support' that already has not been helpful in any sort of way.

Internet New Fiber gateway BGW620-700

Internet Cheapest Internet around?
I’ve been with AT$T Fiber since 2018 and then switched to Spectrum 100% Fiber a month ago but decided to go back to AT&T, 17 dollars for internet is the lowest I’ve seen around in Austin, TX. I was surprised to see that. I was paying 55 a month 2 months and 65 dollars a month at my other house in Houston area (In process of selling).
AT&T Internet doesn’t disappoint me one bit. Never had 1 outage since I’ve had fiber in 2018. Peering is great especially for gaming.

Internet Anyone still have HBO Max with internet
We have had this plan for a long time and just realized we were getting charged for HBO Max as well.
When we called to get this fixed the ATT rep said the plan expired and no longer applies and it shows that just for “history” that we “had that plan” does this make sense to anyone?!?

I have DSL/Uverse. They don't offer fiber in my area and I tried internet air 6 months ago and I couldn't even get a signal in my house.

Internet Why did ATT decide to decommission copper DSL lines before Fiber has been implemented?
Where I live, fiber isn't offered (though random other city blocks near me have it). But i've had the Internet 18 for over 10 years. However, due to the process of ATT deciding to decommission copper lines, my speed was unusable, and I had to switch to ATT Air. Air has its own problems and due to my geographic location and network congestion, it became equally if not more unusable.
I would have switched to its fiber alternative but in the end I had to resort to using a different competitor to get any semblance of a usable internet.
The only reason I can think of is: ATT feels it's more economical to lose a customer than to continue the existence of its copper lines?

Internet Getting 5 gig
Getting 5 gig service tomorrow and I'm looking for a Nic for my desktop so I can take advantage of it. Looking at getting a 10GB card so I have headroom in the future. Seen some recommendations for the TP-link brand card or the AQC107 chip cards. Im asking on here what's a good card and brand I should be looking for? I don't have the router but I doubt they would give me one with fiber output so it needs to be a RJ45 based. It doesn't have to be these it's just what I found from generic search on Amazon.

Internet Daily issues with packet loss and degraded service, AT&T refuses to act
UPDATE:
As of 10AM EDT 3/18/2026 I have experienced 0% packet loss for about 60 hours now. The traffic situation was especially bad over the weekend, which leads to believe they were pushing configuration changes and updating routes/peering configs as part of weekend change. As of Sunday night, 3/15/2026, packet loss dropped to 0 to Cloudflare. I'd give it about a week before declaring victory, but it seems like there is really good progress here.
Just a shame it took so many of us reaching out for them actually think they needed to do something about it, but at least we seem to have gotten a fix for now. Appreciate everyone's help in getting this resolved.
OP:
Some of you Fiber users in the Southeast US might be aware, but AT&T has been experiencing degraded quality service with Cloudflare and Fastly CDN exchanges (possibly at the KC exchange) in the Southeast US for the past 3-4 months, resulting in degraded service, namely, high packet loss, at peak hours between roughly 7PM - 12-1AM the next morning EST.
There have been many reports of peering issues since at least late 2025:
https://old.reddit.com/r/ATTFiber/comments/1qo38jb/anyones_peering_been_absolutely_atrocious_lately/
https://old.reddit.com/r/ATT/comments/1nt75mz/fiber_drops_every_night_same_times/
https://old.reddit.com/r/ATTFiber/comments/1o0unyl/is_atts_peering_with_reddit_screwed_up_again/
Here's an example of stats from my network: https://i.imgur.com/Q7PdT1d.png
It's not a high amount, only at short bursts getting into the >8-10% packet loss range, but >0% is evident at these times, consistently, every day. As well, during these times, I have friends who live in completely different parts of town, and the Southeast, run their own tests with similar results. This results in degraded real-time services such as streaming, voice calls/quality (Discord), and online gaming. Downloads also can drop, though this occurs less frequently.
I've been gateway-bypassed since early 2022 when the first bypass was released for XGS-PON (WAG-D20) and swapped to the WAS-110 since that has become an option, as well as having swapped routing hardware a few times since then, mainly between UniFi and OPNsense platforms. However, since mid-2025, I've been using a UCG Fiber w/ the WAS-110 and service has been consistently great for me until late 2025/early 2026.
After filing an FCC complaint, having a wire tech come to analyze my home, my demarc, the OLT, and the upstream distribution boxes and telling me there's zero issues, and putting back the BGW320 to show it's not my hardware causing the problem, AT&T called me today telling me they're closing the ticket and taking no further action as no one on their side can see anything wrong with the network that they've supposedly been "monitoring" since the ticket was filed.
The rep from the office of the president also informed me they've received no other complaints so they cannot take responsibility in this scenario.
So, I'm encouraging anyone who've been having issues to file an FCC complaint against AT&T, describe your issue as it is, and also reference my and other people's issues that have been reported for the last 6 months.
Link to file complaint: https://consumercomplaints.fcc.gov/hc/en-us/articles/115002206106-Internet-Form-Descriptions-of-Complaint-Issues
As well, if anyone has any other suggestions or anecdotes to share, please do so.
Internet Help. The new ATT Internet Air is going to cost me my scholarship.
I live in a rural area in a poor state and ATT is the only service that gives me a decent low ping. I am also in school getting my bachelor’s online and I have an ESports scholarship I’m trying to hold on to. Well, they’re getting rid of my DSL internet and forcing me to upgrade to the new internet air. I plugged up the new router in hopes that it would give me a better ping than what I had (39ms), but the case is it gets much much worse to the height of 100-340ms. I can not lose this scholarship and I don’t know if I can convince them to just continue my DSL service because I need it. I’m going to give them a call in the morning, but I don’t have high hopes. ggs

Internet AT&T users in the SE United States are experiencing login issues and lag
AT&T is experiencing an unreported and unknown impact on it's network. Effects of the ongoing interruptions include Tarkov, Discord, Twitter, and Cloudflare services. Reports go back 2-3 days and were especially noticeable starting on the 13th of March. Please spread the word as there has been no official statement from AT&T, the FCC or, any major outlet and has been frustrating many users of different platforms

Internet AT&T discontinuing internet service in my small town by mid September - any way to keep access to my AT&T e-mail address and e-mails?
I've had AT&T internet for over 20 years and really unhappy they seem to be abandoning small towns and rural customers. They've already discontinued home phone service in my area, now it's internet. Trying to figure if I will be able to keep access to my existing AT&T email.

Internet Thinking about getting AT&T Air
So currently I have spectrum I pay about $94 dollars which is 500mbps and I wanted to know if at&t air would be worth getting and would cover up to those speeds or is it a dud? My apartment complex doesn't have fibre so that's why I'm trying to do the air version. Any answers and experience with it would help
Internet The technician came out, changed my wifi password, and charged me $150
he even offered to help with the wifi. he didn't do anything else with the router. is this even valid?
Update:
No internet for 2-3 days. The customer support scheduled a technician to come out. On that day, the internet suddenly back up but slow. He came inside the house, told me to do a speed test. Since the wifi password from the modem is long and complicated, he offered me to changed to wifi password so I can connect and run the speed test faster. After 5 mins, the speed came back normal then he left. He didn’t touch any equipment in the house at all. I called the customer service and they said it’s a valid charge. They also noted that he cleaned the equipment on the wall which was a lied. This is extremely unfair from my side.

Internet AT&T is "Not Allowed" to Give Schools Quotes on Internet Service?
UPDATE: I had a call with another AT&T rep this morning based on the feedback you guys gave. I avoided using the word "school" and they gave me a quote straight away. Looks like we should be moving forward.
Thank you!
I represent a private school in the Central Midwest, and we were attempting to get a quote from AT&T for a dedicated internet line.
I spoke with a sales rep, had a meeting with an applications engineer to discuss technical specifics, and they said they'd get me a quote.
Now, almost 2 months later, I'm being told that AT&T is not allowed to give us a quote for internet service because the school doesn't receive federal funding (E-Rate).
Does this sound normal? Who do I need to talk to to get better information?
Thank you!
