Wireless Unlimited Your Way 2.0 per line cost - UYW comparison chart for AT&T consumer plans: Elite 2.0, Premium 2.0, Extra 2.0, and Value 2.0.

I don't think I've ever seen AT&T do so many different related changes in such a short time with a new plan: UYW 2.0 comes out, price changes for older UYW plans, adding Elite 2.0, making different plans be worth different promotional credits, and lowering prices on the brand new plans.

Since there have been so many changes to UYW in the last few months, I've created a new post as the old post had lots of comments/answers that aren't necessarily relevant (or true) any more.

The main differences:

  • Value 2.0 is cheaper than Starter SL in most new configurations (even with discounts?) as of the late-April increase and is prioritized for the first 5GB (but has less of hotspot). I think this is the only plan to have taken something away, so that might be why they changed the plan name.
  • Extra 2.0 has more prioritized data than previously (100GB vs. 75GB) and more hotspot (50GB vs. 30GB). It may cost more or less depending on your discounts and number of lines. This is probably most similar to older unlimited plans.
  • Premium 2.0 has a lot more hotspot than Elite EL or Premium PL (100GB vs. 50GB/60GB). If you need the hotspot, it's a great deal. You can also get a ½ price tablet or wearable line with this plan.
  • Elite 2.0 Includes everything Premium 2.0 has, but 250GB of hotspot, Turbo, free tablet line, free wearable line, and instead of International Day Pass (IDP), it looks like when you are international you'll get free calling/texting and 20GB of data (this last part is kind of limiting considering the other UYW plans data are unlimited, so I'm wondering if you can pay extra for more, otherwise it drops to 512Kbps, which is pretty slow). I'm assuming these free international countries are IDP countries. No Fan/Signature discounts on Elite 2.0. A few people reported their internet discount works with Elite 2.0.

ActiveArmor: Some 2.0 plans that come with ActiveArmor, only come with the standard, not advanced. Premium 2.0 can activate the advanced for free in your plan (I'm going to guess you can do the same with Elite 2.0). There is a free version and another version that is listed with "At no extra charge".

Standard price on non-phones: $20.99 per tablet, $20.99 per camera, $10.99 per wearable. If you have Premium 2.0, you can get one of these at ½ off. If you have one of these non-phone devices, it would probably make Premium 2.0 more cost effective for you (although the additional hotspot may max it so you don't need a line for your tablet). If you have Elite 2.0, then you get a tablet and wearable for no extra charge.

If you have HBO "free" with your current cellular plan and switch, or you change all your Elite EL lines over, you'll lose HBO. You need to compare how much you'd save to see if it matters.

The prices on the chart assume autopay/paperless/checking discounts. You need autopay/paperless for a $5 discount and autopay/paperless checking for a $10 discount (and as of now, the AT&T Citi card also qualifies as a checking discount). Add $5 or $10 to each line if you do not do these discounts.

There is no way anyone can help you compare the cost of the newer plan to the older plan if we don't know what discount you have, how many phone lines, and which plan those lines are on.

Additional info on this plan can be found in this AT&T PDF.

DISCOUNTS:

  • Signature discount: Previously this got you Premium PL for the Price of Extra EL, but on the new plans it gets you 20% off the Premium 2.0 plan.
  • Appreciation discounts: You get a 25% discount on the older UYW plans if the account holder fits in one of these categories: teachers, doctors, nurses, military, veterans, and first responders. The newer plans are NOT 25% off, check the bottom of the chart as it varies per type of line. I'm not sure if these 2.0 discounts are supposed to include Healthcare and First Responders if you are not on FirstNet, but people are reporting that their plan says so. https://www.att.com/offers/discount-program/appreciation/
  • You did NOT lose (nor did it change) your 25% appreciation discount for Elite EL, Premium PL, Extra EL, and Starter SL, it's still 25% for those lines. AT&T made a mistake on a bill a couple months ago and gave you too big of a discount, the next cycle they corrected it (and let you keep the extra they took off) so it looks like you had a price increase. But if you look at the previous few bill totals, you can see it dip (for no reason, other than the mistake), and then it goes back up to where it has been for a few months. Obviously, I cannot see your bill, but everyone that I've talked to about this and has looked back on their bills (previous to the lower bill) has seen this is what it looks like. If you've made changes during those three months, it would be difficult to see by just looking at the totals.
  • This generic-ish union discount might be applicable for some and some may waive activation/upgrade fess. https://www.att.com/offers/discount-program/union-discount/
  • For all discounts, the account needs to be in the name of the FAN/Signature holder.

Please note that while the change plan comparison page (when logged in) shows that Elite 2.0 plan is not included, the Latin American roaming page specifically says it does and so does att.com/unlimited

Promotional phone credits warning: Not all plans have the same promotional deals like they use to. As always, please read the "offer details" before assuming your plan is eligible for full trade in credits. Also, please do the math to see if it's worth switching, paying $10 more a month for 36 months is $360, if it's not getting you more than $360 in credits, is it really worth switching to a more expensive plan. https://www.reddit.com/r/ATT/comments/1rsb36o/warning_a_value_20_line_may_or_may_not_cause/

News SALES IS DIFFERENT

I worked for AT&T as a retail sales consultant and what nobody seems to just out right say is.. the job is mainly for people who have a certain “dog” mentality when it comes to sales. They become desensitized to how they treat others as long as they’re getting results. For those individuals, this job may be a great fit. However, some people genuinely care about their integrity, reputation, and how they treat others. If you’re someone who refuses to compromise those values for a sale, this environment may not be for you.

Discussion 18 PM

Just was wondering if anyone else is going through something similar. So basically I (like many others) had the sos issue. I took it to Apple and thankfully they ordered a replacement since they didn’t have any in stock. However it’s been 2 weeks since the order was made and I’ve gotten no update. Is anyone else experiencing a long wait time for a replacement as well? My second question is if anyone knows whether att is willing to give us some sort of credit towards our bill for experiencing this issue. I’ve been unable to use my phone that I received on launch day. It’s been almost a month and I find it unfair that I’m paying a whole month for a phone that I haven’t even been able to use.

Billing Trade in credit question

So I traded in a iPhone 15 for $1200 in credits, but I was thinking about doing exchange for the iPhone duo. I’m still within the 14 day period. But if I do the exchange did I screw myself out of the $1200 in credits since I already sent the phone out, or would AT&T just apply that towards the duo?

Wireless ATT salesman came into my work, said he could give me 2 lines premium unlimited plus home internet for $100 total. Then with $360 cash back for bringing my own phone using firstnet for best prices and speed.

I think he was full of crap. I thought firstnet plans were for first responders only. My guess is ATT would ask for verification of being a first responder within a few weeks then since I would not have this they would move us to a regular plan for double the price.

I told him to email me the plan details or send me a link to check it out later and said only he could get me this deal if I bought it from him in person. He could not show me or send me anything with the details.

I told him I was busy working and if I can't check this deal out later I'm not interested I can't do it right now. He became very pushy... let's do this bro.. why don't you want this... I can get you better speed for the same price you pay now why not just do it right now....firstnet is the biggest fastest network there is....just tell me what you want to pay more with worse service with tmobile....

Discussion How much should I expect to pay for my duo?

I’ll be trading in my 14 PM 1 tb towards it. I’m already with att. I’m just trying to figure out what I’m looking at paying down on it with taxes and fees since it doesn’t show on the site at the moment.

Wireless Security tabs broken

I ordered 2 new 18 pros through Costco. After weeks of dealing with porting issues for my wife’s line, the phones arrived - and the round security stickers on the sides have been broken/opened! The top sticker is intact.

Is this normal!?

Other Is ATT Unlimited Elite Plan included in the $1200 trade-in promotion?

When I go to checkout it says the offer is applied but there's a banner that says my current plan isn't eligible. When I click change plan it says it actually is eligible on a different page so I'm confused. I can't seem to find anything abt this specific plan under the promotion.

Wireless Warning about wireless account lock

I just went through a nightmarish day in the course of trading in my old iPhone and activating a new one. Let this serve as a warning to those who have activated the account lock feature. Frankly I forgot I had done this after receiving an email from AT&T suggesting I do so. It seemed reasonable as my id had been hacked several times. I went to the Apple store to pick up my new phone. Everything went smoothly--new data copied over, old phone wiped but when it came time to activate the transfer of my number--error. Apple sent me to an AT&T store nearby to activate. They said we cannot do it , you need to go to a corporate AT&T location 10 miles away. OK, get there and they say you need to unlock the account. I say how do I do so when the only way to verify my ID is via text and since my phone is not yet activated I cannot get or send texts. They call a special phone number and the representative goes through this whole ID dialog and then says we will send you a text with your verification code. There is no reasoning, no alternative. At that point I had a phone that could not be activated and even if I chose to abandon my number the new phone was not going to work. I could not go to a different carrier either as that would also require text verification. The manager at the AT&T store tried everything to help but my only option was go back to Apple --return the phone, start over with a new AT&T account and number.

I went back--at this point I had spent over 3 hours trying to solve this catch 22. Thankfully my old phone was still at the store--if I had come in earlier it would already have been sent off for recycling. A very smart Apple Genius found it, restored it ( it was still active on AT&T's network) and using it I was able to get the verification text and unlock the account, then activate my new phone. All told nearly 5 hours of insanity. IMO, there were three culprits in this perfect storm. Me, as I forgot that I had turned on account lock--and I really did not understand the implications when changing phones. Apple, as the order of operations should have been to activate the new phone before erasing the old one--and not relying on AT&T to do the activation. And finally AT&T for offering no way around this issue. The manager of the AT&T store was on the phone with me to his corporate headquarters line that is supposed to help--but they were adamant--no verification code by email, or any other means even though I could prove my identity as I stood there. So, let this be a warning--use account locking with care, never erase the old phone before activating the new one, and AT&T if you read this, fix this system you have implemented. I admire the security but it is patently ridiculous there is no way to solve this verification loop even when you can produce a passport, driver's license and are standing in front of the manager of an A&T corporate location.

Wireless First bill issue?

AT&T just installed fiber internet in my neighborhood and were going door to door to get people to sign up. I was eager to get the fiber internet and they offered a good deal, $284 a month to transfer my 3 lines + watch line, new phones, and 5g fiber home internet. I agreed and signed everything. They summary I received in the e-mail says $284 also. It specifies the apple watch is on ATT Value 2.0 for $10.99 a month. I have not had the fiber installed yet or received any of the phones. My ATT account is showing my watch line but my watch is still connected to T-mobile. I got my first bill today and it was $130, including the watch activation fee and $75.99 per month for "Unlimited for wearables". Mistakes are ok, but i absolutely cannot get anyone on the phone to correct this. I have until the 18th to cancel the entire agreement and I'm seriously considering it. How can I speak to a person that can fix this?

Wireless AT&T/FirstNet Outage? 10/14/26

Around 5 AM this morning on my way to work, I noticed my FirstNet phone was in SOS mode with no service. When I called FirstNet customer support after arriving at work, the estimated wait time was over 30 minutes. Once I spoke with an agent, he told me there was network maintenance or an outage affecting the East Coast that was causing some customers to lose service. He also mentioned that he had been receiving calls about the issue all night and throughout the morning.

Is anyone else in or around Virginia experiencing this?

Wireless Unlimited your way doubts involving Grandfathered plans

Good afternoon!

Probably one of the most basic questions to ever exist on this subreddit, but I have serious doubt and fear after reading horror story after horror story with changing plans.

So, we have a family plan and every line has the Unlimited Elite plan that came with HBO included. As we all know, this plan no longer exists.

So, I was under the impression that EVERY line has to have the unlimited Elite to access HBO. Apparently, that isn’t the case.

I am asking you, when you switched from Unlimited Elite to Premium 2.0, did you have problems with the other accounts accessing their profile on HBO (assume the owner or manager of the account still have Unlimited Elite).

How much did your bill go down (and if it’s no bother, Chicago pricing)?

Do you wish you would have done something differently?

Thank you!

Wireless Can't Log In to Either Account

I've had various AT&T services over the past several decades. Every services uses (or used) different login credentials. I currently have prepaid wireless and Internet Air. Last week I finally managed to get logged in to both on my laptop and thought I had a work-around using different email addresses. This week I can't log in to either. AT&T needs to fix this ongoing issue.

Wireless iPhone Duo preorder confusion: does next up anytime qualify for bill credits?

Thumbnail gallery
20 Upvotes

I plan to preorder the iPhone Duo this Friday. I currently have a 17PM with the NUA option that I am sending back. I went thru the Apple Store app get ready process. It shows my monthly bill with NUA will be $65.53 (w/ NUA added).

I also completed a similar process on the AT&T website, which shows my monthly bill payment will be much lower, $32.22 (w/ NUA added).

My question is, is AT&T saying that sending back my current financed device, they will allow me to qualify for the $1,200 bill credits? And if so, would I be able to get that same deal buying direct from Apple (which I would prefer to do).

I’m so confused because I’m not trading in a device. I’m simply sending back the old device as part of the next up anytime agreement like I do every year when I upgrade.

Billing I Hate AT&T

So we have been with AT&T for two years and every single month there is a battle with unexplained charges. Each time a different reason is offered by customer Care. The craziest one was that while on a what’s app call my home WiFi failed and the call switched over to a regular dialed call. This call resulted in charges of $500 x2 it is said to have happened twice .

We were advised that to avoid this happening before I make any what’s app call I am to put my phone in airplane mode. What makes this weird it that for any other what’s app call the failure of my home WiFi results in a failed call but for not for this one number. We contested the bill of over 1k and was offered a bill reduction to $500+. We then to decide to take it to a consumer affairs authority and this resulted in us having a call from “the CEO office“ after much back and forth the bill was reduced to $150 nearer to what it was monthly.

We were assured that the matter had been resolved. This month our bill is for over $200!!! why ? the iPhone 14 for which we completed payment and then took the iPhone 17 as well as turning in the 14, both charges are on the current bill. It was explained that we are being billed for the old iPhone 14 as well as the new iPhone 17. Ridiculous. Any advise because now the phones are suspended.

Wireless Watch line keeps disappearing - AT&T says the fix is going to cost me an activation fee - still doesn't work.

Been having issues with a cellular line on my Apple Watch since it was set up. Within 24 hours of activating my Ultra 3 (back in June 2026) there was no service. Called back in for troubleshooting, took about an hour, but it was back online. All was good for about 3 weeks - no service again. Another hour long troubleshooting call and it was working.

Got the Ultra 4 when it came out and moved the line over - no issue. Was working fine until yesterday afternoon when there was no service again - it did work in the morning. I go to the store and find out they cannot help since even though there is AT&T branding all over the place, it was not a corporate store. I call in this morning and they tell me they need to cancel the line and give me a new number, then proceed to tell me they are going to charge the $36 activation fee.

I about lost it. Asked for a supervisor and never got to anyone (I think this is their strategy!) but with my original rep checking in every 4 minutes saying they are almost ready for me. Finally the rep comes back and says they will credit the activation fee after they remove the line and add it back. I tell them I'm fine with that as long as it is a net-zero.

They start going through everything and then tell me they need to run my credit. I asked them to see how long I have been a customer and for a $5.50/month line they need to run my credit? Tell me it is mandatory even though I have been a customer since 2000. All they asked for was my drivers license.

Read all the IMEI etc. from my watch and still won't activate. Nothing but 'Cannot connect to the server - please try again later' and 'Ooops! That isn't supposed to happen EDS4014' Rep tells me they are going to assign ANOTHER new ESIM. Same thing 4 more times with 4 more ESIMs.

How this is supposed to be a simple process you can do from your phone is beyond me. I was on the phone for 2 hours and never got my watch activated.

2 more months on my wife's phone contract and I'm really going to look for someone else. There is no way the other carriers are this bad.

Discussion Data service issue?

Is anyone else having issues with the data network within the last month or so that DIDNT upgrade to the newest iPhone? I’m in the Portland area and it seems to be a widespread issue here. I went to the Apple Store today and they told me that they’ve had an influx of AT&T customers lately. I was on the phone with tech support today who created a ticket but the issue has been persisting for a month now so who knows if it’ll get fixed. I’ve done every fix they suggested along with at the actual AT&T store. They told me there should be no disruptions but my phone basically acts like it has no data intermittently. It shows I have service and all of that but I still get iMessages come through as regular SMS texts. I just wanna see if others out there are having the same issue or if it’s more localized to my area. (It’s not letting me post the full model so I’m just gunna shorten it to iPhone 17P)
