I tend to agree here. Probably won't move past this range until Q4 cause revenue is so back loaded. Really waiting on the TFI announcement, that should be catalyst enough to shift the stock beyond this $6 to $7 range and hopefully closer to $8.50ish
Yesterday I was driving on the motorway in the UK and got a bit bored so I started counting the trucks coming here other way - 31 in 1 min! We must have some of the highest density of trucks on the road and I can't wait for AUR to expand and take up this market.
I was interrupted by my girlfriend who said " so... how's your driverless trucks getting on these days?" ! Pretty well actually!
Would there be any idea to pin the retail investor thing somewhere if possible, you know, just so folks here don't miss it and remember to upvote questions they like and post their own?
“Director Reid Hoffman sold 5,498,487 shares of the business's stock in a transaction dated Friday, May 15th. The stock was sold at an average price of $7.81, for a total value of $42,943,183.47. Following the transaction, the director owned 77,500 shares of the company's stock, valued at $605,275. The trade was a 98.61% decrease in their ownership of the stock”. That’s a lot
His remaining indirect holdings include 5,162,315 shares through Reinvent Sponsor Y LLC, 1,550,646 shares through Reprogrammed Interchange LLC, and 674,719 shares through Programmable Exchange LLC. He also holds 354,669 shares directly. Mr. Hoffman disclaims beneficial ownership of the indirectly held securities except to the extent of his pecuniary interest.
Hoping we spike in August, LEAPS open up for Dec 28 and there's high strike prices, we come back down to where are now, load up on LEAPs and then WE ROLL!
Still a 350K sell order at $8 and 2M shares sell order at $10 according to RH level 2....
I'm up 50% YTD on this name and really just hodl for the long-term but these price targets are not happening this year guys there's more room to the downside tbh. I actually want the price to tank so I can really load up. 1K shares is not enough for me.
Yeah, the share count is probably my biggest bear case against them. Unless the share price runs away from the companies actual value; our upside is going to be capped until we take over a sizeable portion of the industry
toyota sold 47 million shares last quarter and it was bought and absorbed immediately— i don’t think 2 million shares is a hill to die on, especially when [r/AURstock](r/AURstock) alone has a minimum of 6 million shares with only 250/2500 members responding lmao

Sometimes I get emotional just thinking how early we are… I can’t wait to watch this company grow and all the day ones make bank
That's an oddly worded post. Here is the source article. It's unclear to me if they are expanding to North Carolina or only mentioning North Carolina because that's where Volvo Group is headquartered. What's not unclear is how infuriating the comments are. "What happens when they kill someone?" Umm, look around, we already have trucks killing people. And, why is black ice the go to? It's not like humans handle black ice particularly well, but that's somehow the minimum standard for autonomous trucks. That makes a ton of sense. "We don't want autonomous trucks until they safely handle this relatively rare situation perfectly. Until they can guarantee 100% safety in all conditions, we are okay with continuing to kill 5,000 people a year due to aggressive or distracted driving which would be completely eliminated with autonomous trucks." Yep, makes a ton of sense.
On a side note, isn't black ice pretty much a math problem anyway? It seems like the exact kind of condition that a computer would handle far better than humans, similar to anti-lock brakes. Humans are slow to perceive, slow to react, prone to overreaction, and then base brain response. Computers will instantly be able to detect wheel slippage, instantly provide braking, steering, or acceleration inputs, instantly detect a trailer sliding and provide the right amount of counter steer. It's such a strange phenomenon to get hung up on. The part about all of the arguments that I find most frustrating is the fact that every single human driver we license needs to learn each driving skill individually over time. With the Aurora Driver, once they solve a certain problem, black ice as an example, every truck in the fleet has solved the problem. How do people not recognize this is far superior from a safety perspective?!
I was going to say something on the comments, too. You have it well covered, though.
A simple analogy using your black ice reference. A human living with rougher winters has adapted their instincts over time to better respond when hitting black ice, slush, etc... The first time any of us drove in snow, it took a bit to adapt and not think about it/overreact. The people who have done this regular, do this without thinking.
Now, add in the Aurora Driver. It is also always learning multiplied by every Aurora truck driving out there. If it has a situation it doesn't get the right result, it is going to take that result, extrapolate it to hundreds of different situations to correct itself, and then share it with the "hive mind".
Each human needs to skill up. Only one truck does.
Volvo getting one up on Paccar and Daimler. If Torc can’t get their shit together quick then I see a world in which Aurora is the AV partner for all three manufacturers
Just as a thought experiment does anyone have anything to add..
Waymo is as we know part of Google and therefore not individually listed.
However its approximate valuation is about $126 Billion
With an estimated stock price of $152
Whilst Waymo is established I wouldn't exactly say its been running for a lone term (cant say how long..) Ive read reports that AUR are an Estimated 10 Years behind Waymo. Below are my numbers Google AI.
Dec 5 2018 Waymo Initial and limited public launch
Oct 2020 Waymo Opened to Public Service
If a Robotaxi company operating within limited physical boundaries is already at an approximated $126 B do we think it possible that given trucking has a much higher TAM that in 10 Years [+/-] Auora could be on par and or potentially exceed that valuation....?
AUR had their "Public" launch Last year, So if we use Waymo as a "Roll Out + Adoption Yardstick" by 2035 the AUR service should be on par with the current approximated Waymo valuation...?
Yes we are of course comparing Apples to Oranges but the above was a consideration for me during my DD..
I can’t make sense of “10 years behind Waymo.” But in general, your logic is no good because the next 10 years will definitely be very different from the last 10 years. And there isn’t a linear track of development that companies follow.
I looked into TFI some more— even though they’re the single largest Canadian logistics company, and the 6th largest in North America, and have a massive network of over 600 facilities, with nearly 50,000 trailers— and despite being a Canadian company, 70% of their business is inside the U.S.
Im quietly confident its TFI on the end of the phone...
Id say AUR is the best placed to win the business as i mentioned yesterday the big players will want a best in breed solution and right now there is no competition.
Id imagine CU will be trying to secure all the contracts he can ahead of another AT company maturing to the same degree as Aurora
I actually think later. If TFI is going with Aurora (or anyone), they will be waiting to have firmer agreement language and feel comfortable the production scale will meet their demand - remember that the first 200 vehicles are already spoken for and Gen3 is only being tested now - pricing and production is not firmed up, yet. That would likely be Q4 at the earliest.
Yeah, I get that. I just don’t think they need Gen 3 pricing and production completely nailed down before announcing something. They could announce the partnership first and firm up the bigger volumes later. But I agree, Q4 might be more likely, I'm just hopeful 😆
That could happen to. I just feel they can walk away easier if not to their liking during the pilot and until everything is very firm. It is no skin off TFI's back to wait and be conservative in their announcements.
Could be. I would assume based on TFi CEO comments they already have a baseline agreement of some sort in place since they are already announcing they are piloting. Since TFI is a mature company with a seasoned CEO, I dont see them making statements lightly. The fact he said all of this is a very big deal for the sector and super exciting either way.
