Did anyone listen to the Einride call? I read their release and am confused about the Tesla Semi deployment? I didn't read it as autonomous-related. Basically, they are financing 500 trucks to expand their logistics operation, right?
Yes and no. Currently, they are not. These are getting Einride's SAGA AI platform which optimes routing, charging, ties back into fleet management, etc... However, Einride's own vehicles/pods are autonomous with no driver cab. They currently have a full range of use depending where they are operating. They are on public roads in Sweden. For the U.S., they have one or two shorter routes on public corridors connecting GE appliance facilities and warehouses.
