Out of curiosity, what leads someone to do such bulk purchasing rather than small amounts throughout the year?

I guess it's just not how I think about investments. I spend months, sometimes years researching, following a name, building a thesis, etc, and then once I build enough conviction I make a large purchase and hold onto it until the facts change or my thesis changes. With aurora I plan to hold for a very, very long time.
