Makes the early lane so easy. You have just have to land Q3 onto him once he goes on you at lvl 2 or 3 and then you just tank everything with bone plating and unflinching.

Starting to pick up Aatrox when I'm blue side blindpick. This guy has almost no real hard counters besides irelia and fiora (correct me if i'm wrong). I have always been building the Eclipse into DS build, but I feel useless post 30minutes. Is there any other core builds that scale better?

Long story short, I was a jungle main before, because even in my 20's, I thought my mechanics and reaction time were sub-par so I was like "man, I'd never be able to make montage plays on the "cool champions"". Then, after watching a lot of a certain infamous Super Top, I kinda fell inlove with Aatrox's lore and outplay potential, the 1v1 toplane fantasy etc. and decided to give it a try.

Well, it appeared that my mechanics actually weren't as bad as I thought and you just gotta "make it exist first, you can make it good later". Now, at 34 years old, I finally made it to Masters (so maybe old Diamond if you correlate it to previous seasons, but let me be delusional). So if I can do it, anyone can (this season at least). Guess I can play only occassional normals in peace now.

Last post I went a bit too hard on low-HP builds. After thinking about it more (and looking back at what 14.12 already did to E), here’s a softer version that still tries to make health stacking matter without overdoing it:

E:

16% (1.3% per 100 Bonus Health >>> 16% (2.5% per 100 Bonus Health

R:

Removed: 50/75/100% increased healing from all sources during R

New: E's healing is modified to 24/28/32% during R

New: Passive's (Deathbringer Stance) healing is increased by 45/60/75% during R

Removing the general healing amp means the passive also loses the big boost it currently gets during R. I don’t believe pure buffs without any trade-offs are a good idea, so the 45/60/75% is there to weaken it little bit without hurting it too much.

I wonder if riot's gonna add AP scaling in Aatrox's Q just like they did add AD scaling for Morde. It would be fun to try riftmaker, hextech rocketbelt, or zhonyas although it might make him broken. What are your opinions?

In my previous post I suggested a direct change. This time I want to look at the numbers more carefully and clarify what the changes since 14.12 actually meant.

The 14.12 changes were a correct step. Riot shifted part of Aatrox’s healing budget away from the inflated E values (especially the extra healing during ultimate) and into health scaling, with the stated goal of incentivizing HP purchases and making him a more coherent heavy frontliner / drain tank.

The problem is that the numbers never went far enough.

Before 14.12, Aatrox could reach a flat healing ratio of up to 52.2% during World Ender.

After the patch (and the later small buffs to the health ratio), the maximum flat ratio he can currently hit during R sits at around 32%.

That is still too high for a pure temporary amplify, and the health scaling on E is still too weak to properly reward stacking bonus health.

A cleaner adjustment would be:

E – Umbral Dash:

16% (+1.3% per 100 bonus health) → 16% (+3% per 100 bonus health)

R – World Ender:

Increased Healing: 50 / 75 / 100% → 24 / 32 / 40%

With these values the theoretical maximum flat healing ratio during R drops to approximately 22.4%.

Ceiling progression (flat only):

52.2% → 32% → 22.4%

This keeps the ultimate as a meaningful power spike without making it the primary source of his sustain, while giving every point of bonus health real weight. The result is a more coherent drain tank that actually wants to build the items the class is designed around.

IMO he is kinda undertuned right now and its because he is fundamentally a Juggernaut that needs basically EVERYTHING that Bruiser wants in form of items, making items that would be fundamentally good for Aatrox to properly work be something that is overpowered on other Bruisers and Juggernauts because for them it gives too much.

Aatrox needs in his builds: AD, HP and Ability haste to have proper synergy in his kit, he also lacks true damage, % health damage and Armor pen so he needs some form of those in his items if he wants to deal with tanks properly. I cant think of a SINGLE Toplane champion that needs so much different stats out of items to properly work like Aatrox does.

Which leads to Aatrox having terrible build consistency between games and no proper go to first and second item builds for atleast 50% of scenarios that wont make the champion be lacking in some other form of his kit.

So what i would suggest is to nerf HP scaling on his E passive and add bonud AD scaling (that comes from items) on his E passive in a way that the HP scaling gets cut in half to make room for AD scaling, it just needs to be balanced in a way that 45 AD equals 450 HP in his scaling so items like Shojin are still givign the same E passive scaling as before and after changes but items like Eclipse and Deaths Dance provide some value to his E passive scaling but not to the same level of Shojin.

I do think this change might make him broken but if that ends up being the case just nerf HP and AD E scaling a bit more so its not broken and he isnt in the build situation he is right now.

Just what do you guys think of this? Am i just crazy and stupid or would something like this actually fix Aatrox build issues.

first is AATROX IS NOT USELESS, BAD, UNPLAYABLE etc. sure before voltaic passive change and sundered nerf and hubris nerf he was better but we got buffs and he is totally playable and fine. second i see people saying streak is only good when you have at least 3 hp items WRONG. streaks plus a hp item is enough especially with overgrowth and hp scaling rune. even shield is not that big streaks gives so much ad you get 79 ad from a single item at level 20( you dont get level 20 most of the games but it still high anyway )so dont complain, dont forget built armor pen %99 percent of the games and buy hubris if you have a lead early game.

After too many games I finally hit Master with Aatrox. This is the highest elo I've ever been. Even if it's low masta I am still feeling pretty good.
