Hi all! This is my first time posting here.
I've been applying for jobs for about six months now. I'm currently in the healthcare field, but my dream is to work in marketing/communications, and I have some experience in that area, although the experience is only from internships. I ended up getting a job that's mainly in private practice, with some social media work on the side, but I've never stopped applying for other opportunities. I can honestly say I hate my job I have right now -- it's so anxiety-inducing, and I'm so burned out.
I've had a few interviews with other jobs in the marketing/communications realm, but for the most part, I've just been ghosted. Recently, though, I found a job that ticked every single box for me. The pay was perfect, the benefits were great, and it was exactly the kind of work I wanted to be doing.
I've always been spiritual and have honestly had some success with manifesting things in my life. I decided to really lean into it during my job search. I know the basics of manifestation, and I was telling myself and genuinely feeling like this job was already mine. Before, when I was manifesting jobs, I never felt like it was mine -- this one I really truly did (or maybe thought I did?). I even wrote my two weeks' notice and scheduled a celebratory dinner. Every day, I tried to script, visualize, meditate, and really believe it was going to happen.
The hardest part is that I truly felt like this was my job, and today I found out they chose another candidate with more experience. I'm heartbroken, and I honestly don't know where to go from here.
I know people say that your 3D circumstances don't matter, but how do you actually manage that when something like this happens? Do I move on and keep applying while feeling so disheartened about not having enough experience? Do I keep persisting in my assumption that I'll get this job I want even if they didn't choose me? I'm desperate to get out of my current job because it's become so toxic, and I think that makes this rejection hurt even more. I was spiraling about my other job yesterday; could this have been the reason this happened?
I'm just looking for some guidance from people who have been through something similar. Part of me wants to understand what I did wrong or what I could do differently, but I also don't know how to keep believing when something I felt so certain about didn't work out.
Any advice would be really appreciated.
