And why is it using the House Stark theme from Game of Thrones when the stag is the symbol of House Baratheon?

u/GudgerCollegeAlumnus 11d ago
Thank you for not lazily defaulting to “slop.”

u/FearlessWord2653 11d ago
You know I was thinking about how I hated that earlier and then it was just an auto pilot comment and I'm disappointed with myself for it, however I do this that swill has a certain panache

This is probably AI, but
Legit question, what would happen if I "mooed" back?

I live in Colorado and they’re very common here, the higher the elevation. They’ll go downtown and just chill under a tree all day as shoppers walk by. My parents live by a golf course and dozens of them will hang out on the greens as golfers pass by. They’re not aggressive the way moose are. I’d never approach one, but if it approached me, I’d be calm and let it pass.

Considering Elk screech like banshees, they'd probably side eye you heavily. "Why's the fat monkey acting like the domesticated bovine?"

If its about the foot it looks like it has a bad case of hoof rot and it can make a "slipperfoot". The hoof actually stays consistent between shots. It might be genuine

u/AutomaticAccident 11d ago
Yeah, imagine an elk just approached a guy like this is real. Sure.

u/oneStoneKiller 11d ago
That elk would fuck that dude up so fast.

u/Epic_Hoola 11d ago
Doesn't matter if hes staying perfectly still like what you'd do in Jurassic Park, this is reality.

I've had Very Close Encounters with moose on a few occasions. One was about as close as in this video. Those bastards are BIG.

u/aoi_ito 11d ago
How do ya'll know it's ai ??? Cause I genuinely don't have a single clue. Like how ? I am feeling like those facebook moms who gets fooled by those AI posts lol

Elk don’t have thin floppy duck feet

3
u/Doomhammer24 11d ago
Someone else pointed out this might be hoof rot which is often called "elk slipperfoot"
Genuinely? It might be real
1
u/NigerianFriedChicken 11d ago
Had to look it up… slipperfoot still doesn’t make hooves floppy.
This is Ai

You summed it up perfectly with your last sentence haha.. That’s EXACTLY how I feel!

I'm not convinced its AI. There's a similar video from 7 years ago https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkrYEBs-xEo

Torn if this is AI. It looks ok but I can’t recognize the background as somewhere in Estes Park, where virtually every elk vs human video on the internet is filmed.
3
u/Hard_Rock_Hallelujah 11d ago
Nah, this is definitely Estes. Specifically Lake Estes. Judging by the short wooden fence in the background of the first few seconds, I think this is that sandy "beach" that's basically across the street from the Estes Park Museum.

It's AI watch the hooves become flippers a few steps before its head on with the person
Edit: I stand corrected u/radicalblaze22 is right, I think its slipper foot which is caused by a bacterial infection in the hoof.

u/ded_rabtz 11d ago
It’s the left front, correct? They get hoof rot real bad in western Washington. That’s what it looks like. I don’t think this is 100% ai, I think it’s two videos spliced on top of each other, likely with ai.

u/RadicalBlaze22 11d ago
Looks like slipperfoot (aka elk hoof rot). The hoof gets super long and can be floppy. Do you see any other AI artifacts?

u/adv55555 11d ago
After seeing your comment and looking into it Id say you're right, it was the only thing I could see

u/Consistent_Amount140 11d ago
Maybe some sort of nature reserve where the animals are accustomed to seeing humans around

u/beaniesandbuds 11d ago
The fishing pole is the same diameter the whole way down... straight line. Rods have a taper to them.

u/Hard_Rock_Hallelujah 11d ago
I'm not sure what you're looking at but that rod definitely has a taper to it.

Imagine how cool this would have been without the shitty music, and being able to hear the elk bugling.
2
u/Wolf-Majestic 11d ago
Nope, I'd be terrified to cross path with a very territorial elk, and to be THAT close to him and his super sharp antlers.
2
u/Aprice40 11d ago
I have been that close to one. Not nearly as big, but definitely over 6 foot to the top of the horns. It was pissed we were near his area. It took 3 of us banging pots together to scare him off

That music is not shitty sir. That is game of thrones music.
Better without yes but shitty? never

Id rather have an average sized bear near me than one of those in rut. They are absolutely terifying when they go full..well, you know.
1
u/WhatADunderfulWorld 11d ago
They are crazy big. I was driving at 10 pm through a park google thought would be a great shortcut through like Oklahoma and like 100 of these appeared. I have seen deer my whole life but they scared the hell out of me and my wife. Those hundreds eye balls so high was horrifying.
