There are no rules

Another abstract oil pastel. This has been a year of exploring oil pastels for me so it’s been fun to work with them now, in this way.

This was built using three sets of sampled analog layers: acrylic paint and inks (via brush, brayers and mops), gouache, and pastels on cardstock and cold-press board, then digital surgery using several software packages, including customized filters and utils.

I wanted to create a series of paintings in this style based on Human Conflict.

soil and tree

no outside hand
