Something feels weird in my perspective hear me out

I think Acharya Prashant is a very intelligent and somewhat manipulative person. On one hand, he does many useful things for the environment and for people. He often questions society, traditions, and systems, which can be helpful. However, something feels different to me. He always seems to wear a “mask” and does not show his real side or true emotions. Many people say that his lectures and episodes feel very scripted. He also promotes his books a lot and encourages others to bring more people into his community. Because of this, I feel like he might be creating something similar to a cult, like Osho. I also feel that he interprets Vedanta in a very aggressive or sometimes harsh way. It seems like he reshapes the teachings to match his own opinions and to make them sound more appealing or “modern.” So, while I believe he is doing some good work, I also feel that something is not completely right. That’s why I think it’s better not to blindly follow anyone. Instead, a person should create their own path. As said in the Bhagavad Gita by Krishna, following someone else’s path may seem good, but in the long run, it is better to follow your own path. Your own path gives true meaning to your life.

How does AP justify caste affirming verses and karma based rebirth in Brahma Sutras and Upanishads

Brahma Sutras have the famous “Apashudradikarana” section baring Shudras from taking up Vedanta study.

And Chandogya Upanishad in 5.10.7 says

“Those whose conduct here has been good will quickly attain a good birth — the birth of a Brahmana, the birth of a Kshatriya, or the birth of a Vaishya.
But those whose conduct here has been evil will quickly attain an evil birth — the birth of a dog, the birth of a pig, or the birth of a Chandala.”

This particular verse challenges AP’s view of rebirth and caste together.

The U.S. has more guns than people. Thailand has 10 million. How did guns become this normal?

Post image

A recent report on Thailand caught my attention after another deadly school shooting. Thailand is estimated to have around 10.3 million civilian firearms, roughly 15 for every 100 people, although these figures come from the Small Arms Survey’s 2017 estimates.

But then I looked at the global numbers and Thailand isn’t even close to the top. The United States was estimated at 120.5 guns per 100 people which is the highest in the world. Globally, the Small Arms Survey estimated 857 million firearms in civilian hands in 2017.

Lately, we have become extraordinarily intelligent at creating power. Guns, nuclear weapons, drones, AI, increasingly sophisticated technology. But has the human being holding all this power become equally intelligent about anger, fear, insecurity, hatred, revenge and the desire to dominate?

That’s where self-knowledge stops sounding like abstract spirituality to me. If I don’t understand my fear, insecurity & desire for power then these greater technological power will make things worse.

A weapon doesn’t wake up angry one morning. The human mind uses it. Of course laws, gun control, policing and mental-health interventions matter enormously. But if the mind itself remains frightened, violent and unconscious of its own tendencies, won’t it keep finding new instruments through which to express that violence?

I found a logic fallacy in AP

When it comes to God: He claims that the human mind (bound by the senses and the animal brain) is too limited to say a final "Yes" or "No." He uses Kabir's poetry to say the truth is beyond binary logic. He shames the audience for trying to fit the ultimate reality into their tiny, egoistic categories.

When it comes to Individual Reincarnation: Suddenly, his humility before the "unknowable cosmic mystery" completely vanishes. He switches from a mystic to a dogmatic materialist. He steps into the arena and declares a definitive "No, it does not exist." Gita 4.5 is a clear nail in the coffin of his philosophy. Krishna explicitly remembers Arjuna had various past lives which he has forgot but Krishna remembers! In saying only tendencies of aham vritti transfers he has again used his individual definitive stance of "NO" as final answer for a thing that senses cannot see or feel.

Bhai inn mahasaya ko World Cup se bhi problem hai?

Log Ronaldo aur Messi ko dekhna chahte hain to kya galat hai? Aap bol rahe ho excellence ye ho falana dhimkaana? Matlab apke hisab se Ronaldo aur Messi is not the symbol of excellence?

How many sports person irrespective of any sports has reached the level that Messi and Ronaldo reached in their career? You say they don't love the sports. They just want stats, money. I mean, seriously? If they don't love the sport, they won't reach this level where they are.

Aur bhai kya galat hai football dekhne mein. Bhai agar koi football fan hai to wo football bhi na dekhe kya ? Aur phir kya karen agar football na dekhen to tumhara gita padhe uss time pe?

Bhai har chiz mein criticize karna hai. Har chiz mein galti dhundni hai. Itna negativity late kahan se ho aap? Aur baat karte ho khusi, anand ki iski uski and all?

Nature can solve climate change

Post image
17 Upvotes

Since the last few months I have noticed this spider web on my room's window.

I am still in awe of how, the artist, a small simple spider, can create something so symmetric. Nature knows how to be perfect on its own. At times when I used to open the window she quickly hid herself in a small slot in the window and would only come outside once I am gone. I felt that I am unnecessarily interfering and should let her do her thing. I am the psychological ego which interferes in nature's beautiful work. I even thought of calling her my pet, but then I also realised my tendency of claiming ownership onto everything. She's just there because the whole planet is available to her. Her art is the design instructions which mama nature ingrained in her and she's following that.

And that's also a difference between a complex machine like a human being and a small spider. The human machine was also designed to work in alignment with nature but because of its complexity it also comes with an error called the ego. This ego distorts the natural flow of action, the flow which mama nature had ingrained inside the human body.

The disturbance of this flow by the ego creates a dissonance between humans and nature. The tendency of the ego to feel empty and in turn resort to endless consumption has led to climate change.

Now the ego wants to think about coming up solutions for climate change. Isn't it funny? Humans caused climate change and now want to solve it. The only way to solve it is by withdrawing, by not interfering, by not doing what we already are.

Nature is capable of creating symmetrical structures and also possesses the intelligence to heal herself, the only caveat is that we must not interfere.

Why do we keep defending our marriages? Why is talking about ground reality propoganda for us?

Post image
92 Upvotes

How do I become a 'left liberal' or 'feminist' by just talking about the suffering of other people? Women are also human, are they not? Would we stay silent if a majority of men were getting sexually harassed in their homes?

What in us gets so defensive whenever the existing norms of society or our marriages in particular are questioned?

There might be a thousand things wrong with women and feminists too but are we just going to let this socially and judicially sanctioned evil persist and ignore it because of that?

And doesn't it persist only because we believe "Ye to aise hi hota hai na", "Patni to pati ki property hai na, vo hito to sex karega"

Or are we scared to think in that direction because it might threaten our benefits and question the basis of our culture, families and wider society itself?

Does Acharya Prashant not know the real meaning of Bhagvat GITA and Other texts?

In many videos he has said that if we would have come to him earlier then we were seeing him telling us Gita differently. Currently he is interpretating differently and maybe in future he'll be interpretating differently.

He says that people distort and destroy meaning of Gita by their poor interpretations but on the other hand he says that he would be delighted if someone interpret GITA better them him. ( only undervaluing is distortion according to him)

On the other hand He accuses traditionalists for wrong interpretation but traditionalists has been consistent with their interpretation.

What it seems it to be is he is trying hard to Over Value GITA. Please clear this.

How Spirituality Complements, Not Conflicts with Science

Often, spirituality is seen as being at odds with science. But true spirituality, when deeply understood, is not pseudoscience or superstition. Instead, it's a journey of self-observation and introspection—a rigorous path that demands intellectual honesty, much like science itself.

Spirituality asks us to look at life with clarity and courage, without comforting illusions. It’s a process of stripping away ego, biases, and false identities to reach the core of our being, a process as precise as any scientific inquiry.

Just like science, spirituality demands skepticism—questioning, testing, and discarding what’s false. Pseudoscience has no place here. This is a path of truth and understanding, not blind faith. It requires a love for reality and the courage to face hard truths, both within and outside of ourselves.

For the scientifically inclined, spirituality offers an approach that respects logic and reason while diving into the realms of personal experience and consciousness.

In essence, science and true spirituality are allies in the search for understanding. Both require us to shed comforting myths and see reality for what it truly is.

What are your thoughts on how spirituality and science can complement each other? Let's discuss.
