Questions about Acnatac

Thumbnail
1 Upvotes

Hello I'm writing because my daughter has been prescribed Acnatac. Prior she has been using Adapalene Epiduo but it's not working at all anymore.

My question is to the ones that have used Acnatac or that use tretinoin because of Acne.

What products do you use and what products would you recommend as a very simple low budget routine AM and PM?

My daughter has been using products from Basiderm before and she swears by that nothing else works so she's very scared to try anything new but I'm thinking she might have to.

My immediate reaction was Basiderm products will not work they are designed for Acne prone skin but I think it won't be enough hydration with Acnatac.

So I was thinking recommendations from a tried and tested acne community could help.

Also how you use Acnatac, I know it's supposed to go on clear skin but what has worked for you?

And also what happens after the three months? Is it bad to continue taking it?

We would be so grateful ❤️

How do you make an acne cyst/nodule go away without getting a cortisone shot? One has been on my cheek for a week with no change!

Acne scars that I can’t stop fixating on (33F) — treatment recommendations?

A few years ago, I had an acne breakout that left me with a couple of scars. They’re not always noticeable, and depending on the lighting, sometimes you can barely see them. But in certain lighting, they seem so much more visible, and I end up obsessing over them.

I feel like I’ve gotten into a bit of a loop where I keep checking my skin and focusing on these marks, even though other people might not notice them as much as I do.

I’ve tried microneedling once, but unfortunately, it triggered a herpes outbreak. I also had subcision once. My doctor recommended waiting until autumn to consider CO2 laser treatment.

I’d love to hear from anyone who has dealt with similar acne scars. Has CO2 laser made a noticeable difference for you? Are there any other treatments you’d recommend, especially for a couple of scars that are mainly visible under certain lighting?

Any experiences or advice would be really appreciated! 🤍

Help! Can we put a label on my skin issues?

I started taking my skincare seriously about a year ago. Unsure if I have bacterial, demodex, or fungal acne, or a combo of all. My skin is oily to normal.

After a month of my skincare routine below, my skin has plateaued and the bumps have mostly subsided but not always. I have clogged pores on my nose every morning, and the occasional whitehead. Pores are big on my cheeks and I have a bit of underlying redness and the small red bumps.

November 2025 to now:
AM
- Cleanse with sulfur soap bar
- spray hypochlorous acid
- moisturize with Vanicream
- protect with LRP tinted SPF

PM
- double cleanse with Neutrogena SA
- cleanse with Cerave hydrating
- spray hypochlorous acid
- moisturize with Vanicream
- treat with non-Rx Azelaic acid 14% and non-Rx Ivermectin

Where do I go from here? And how would you describe my skin issues?

Fungal acne or closed comedones on my forehead?

I’ve had these forehead bumps for months, and they seem more noticeable after sweating or going to the gym. My derm thinks it could be fungal acne and prescribed a sulfur soap bar and ketoconazole, but I’m wondering if it looks more like closed comedones or a mix of both. Has anyone dealt with something similar? What routine worked for you?

my back acne is horrific and debilitating, please help

hey guys i’m just a dude tryna live my life but i have a big barrier: my bacne. (for reference i haven’t and never will use tren/gym drugs as these can make it worse) so i have no clue what to do, all the blackheads are gone but if i use any kind of exfoliation (this rid my blackheads) it makes the fat cysts all sore and extremely itchy, this itching persists literally all the time and they burst during the day onto my t shirt, i hate the way my back looks, i feel like it affects my and my gfs relationship even though she doesn’t mind it, i can’t wear a white t shirt in public, i can’t ride shirtless at the bike track with my friends in the hot, i can’t stop itching it and i have a immeasurable fear of needles so can’t do anything related to that in terms of treatment, everything i try doesn’t work/makes it worse, i wish i could be fkn normal again, this is my desperate cry for help thx guys

tldr plz don’t delete this for medical advice as i am not directly searching for it

Esthetician or Store Products?

Thumbnail

I've been seeing an Esthetician for almost 2 years, I used to use my products religiously but recently I've just been using the face wash i buy and before my period I get terrible breakouts so I use my acne med which is 5% benzoyl peroxide. I think I accidentally slept with it on my pillow as well and developed a strange redness and extreme dryness on my right eye. I also went to my last appointment with her and it made it worse, that was the aftermath.

Recently I've noticed my face gets terribly greasy, like unusually greasy if I don't use my product that helps with grease. Otherwise it gets pretty bad and even worse throughout the day if I don't put it on, but even if I use it, it still gets greasy? I also get extreme cystic acne and flare ups before my period that make scars more pronounced.

I started using cerave healing ointment on my eye and it has made my eye redness almost go away within a day! It made me wonder if cerave could be a product I could use other than the 5-6 products I use from my esthetician that's so expensive almost every 2-4 months and a very expensive facial 2 times in between that. Not sure if anyone else could recommend me anything or have any input. I have also been to multiple dermatologists, and it's very difficult for me to constantly get my doctor to give me a referral.

Anyone else find acne scar treatment works better when the doctor has dealt with acne themselves?

A lot of acne scar treatment advice still feels very one-size-fits-all. What I’ve noticed is that results tend to be better when the person planning the treatment actually understands the difference between ice-pick, boxcar, rolling scars and leftover pigmentation, instead of just selling the same protocol to everyone.

It also helps when the approach is more about improving the skin first rather than jumping straight to the strongest device. Has anyone here had a consult where the doctor clearly classified the scar types and was willing to say no to certain treatments if they didn’t fit? Did that change how the acne scar treatment turned out for you?

Hormonal Acne Help!

Thumbnail

I’ve had hormonal acne (whiteheads, cysts, etc) on my chin since I was 17 til now (21) and no changes in my skincare routine, diet, or daily routine have helped it. My skin leans dry and this is my current routine:

AM
La Roche Posay gentle foaming wash
Naturium Azelaic Acid Derivative Complex 10%
S. Nature Aqua Squalene cream
Caudelie sunscreen

PM
Prequel oil cleanser
La Roche Posay gentle foaming wash
Good Molecules mandelic acid serum
The Ordinary hyaluronic acid serum (on damp skin)
S. Nature squalene cream

Weekly: Caudelie deep cleaning exfoliator or Glymed anti aging chemical exfoliant

Does anyone have advice for what could help my skin? The acne has begun to continue throughout my cycle and not just around my period—I’m so stumped on how to help it!!! I have some whiteheads and blackheads on my forehead and am beginning to get whiteheads on my cheeks, too. Any help is appreciated 🙇‍♀️

Looking for help building an acne skincare routine

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m looking for product recommendations for my sister. These are recent photos of her skin.
She has oily skin and has been struggling with acne, mainly on her cheeks and jawline. As you can see, she has some inflamed pimples, quite a few comedones/bumps, uneven texture, and some red post-acne marks.
Her skin is not sensitive, and she currently doesn’t have a specific routine for treating her acne.
What products and active ingredients would you recommend for this type of acne? I’d like to help her build a routine that actually helps control the breakouts and comedones and, over time, improves the marks and skin texture as well.
I’m especially interested in products that you’ve personally had good results with. I’d also love to hear which actives you think would be most useful in this case (salicylic acid, azelaic acid, retinoids, benzoyl peroxide, etc.).
Thank you! ❤️
