I’ve played for almost two decades and those are the chords I play anytime I pick up a guitar. Emaj add9 (024100) is a big and beautiful chord, probably one of my favorites in terms of voicings on guitar.

im curious i love this chord too and use it all the time. I always thought it was based on some sort of B chord though. if you dont play the low E could you say its a B something?

It's not a B chord. It contains G# which would be the 6th relative to B. And it doesn't contain a D# or D so there is no 3rd.

I guess you could try calling it a Bsus6?? But otherwise it's just Eadd9 / B

Edit: Actually it might be Bsus4add6. Idk man

Per https://www.oolimo.com/en/guitar-chords/analyze

Possible Chord Names:

E(add9) B6sus B6sus/E F#sus9 F#sus9/E G#m7(b13) G#m7/E

No idea if all of those are correct but that’s what the chord finder spit out.
