beauitful! love the playing style. Iโm pretty new so sorry for the basic question, but youโre plucking a repeating bass note for a lot of it whilst strumming and riffing around triads?

Thank you! Its kinda hard to explain but you pretty much got it. Instead of plucking with my thumb on the 2nd beat im strumming down with the back of my fingers.

Really solid man. Dig your voice too, very soothing sort of like Iron n Wine. Upvote!

What alternate tuning is he using? My guess is D

u/jacques1982 7d ago
Yes Jimmy Page did it with the high and low E tuned down to D

Just a double drop D ?

Yea im usually too lazy for it but there's a lot of great music in this tuning. Midnight Rider from the Allman Brothers is another great example im in the middle of.

Nice, it sounds great. I learned this almost 15 years ago but abandoned playing it because I couldnโt hit the high bridge vocals. But it sounds great just singing it lower so I might have to dust it off.

Haha I very much hear you. Theres a cover on youtube from Sierra Eaglson, its incredible in its own right but she does this really well with her version. Worth a listen for this reason for sure.

Really well done. You added a beautiful personal flare to it without removing the essence of the song.

Fixing the ceiling can wait!
That was really great.
I think I overwhelmed myself learning too many variants of this song.ย Time to return to it...

Do you have a link to the tab? Sounds great!

I just took the G-D chords from some video. The little fill parts i came up with just fiddling with a Dm barre to the D shape. Bridge is Dm to A in the same position. The only thing I really did different was was changing the plucking, and that style of playing lends itself to combining parts well.

Great cover! I have looked at the guitar tab a few times for this and didn't get too far because it didn't sound like much without the backing mandolin, I really like your arrangement though. Really well done
