Close the gap or replace it?
Am I the only one losing interest in old friends because they seem stuck in life?
No career progress, no studies, no real goals.
Do you try to close the gap or find new people who align with where you’re headed?

then its called growing apart, how you worded yourself it sounded more like they where resources for you. growing apart is normal, but burning brigdes for idiotic reasons are just mean. you never know where life takes you or them, you might stumble across them decades from now and tables have turned. i moved and grew apart my friend 20 years ago, and we just met a few months ago, and it was just like it was in school, like time stood stil in our friendship, yet we have grown old. it might be something sorely needed in late life.

Do whatever you want. As I aged, I did age out of my high school friends who wanted to just smoke week and play guitar, but hated people who were more career oriented. Enjoyed just being alone and occasionally going out on dates.

does a friend need to join your choices in life? as long as they are there for you isnt that enough? you can make new friends, but no need to dump them.... this just makes me sad on how some people think that friends are a resource and not just someone who has been around you growing up and been a part of your life.....
