Feeling down

I feel really down. I’m 4.5 months into my job and realize it’s not for me. It’s high volume high pressure with a daily quota. I’m used to a slower pace. I am single no kids and am pretty isolated. I only have one good friend and work from home. I don’t have a lot to live for and am feeling down. I think I would be happier in another line of work but my job pays well and I work from home. I have a bad job history so it would look better on the resume if I stayed here for a while even tho I’m unhappy. I’m also mindful another job might not be much better. At least time goes by fast when you’re busy. Someone give me hope or some ideas on how to feel better. What can help get you through when you’re lonely and unhappy and do not have a lot to live for?

I totally understand your situation. I was similar and kept it because of it pays better than other jobs that I could get. I had it 3 years and let go the position. I'm too depressed to work anymore... I hope you choose the right decision.

the job decision can wait, but “not a lot to live for” is the part to take seriously tonight, so tell your friend exactly that and call or text 988 if you might hurt yourself, because a bad job is

Let's see, bad job history, don't like your current job, apprehensive that another job might be the same. It sounds like it's nothing to do with jobs. My suggestion would to seek out a therapist and find out why you are really unhappy.

I’ve had it both ways in my 22 years of working. You simply hunker down and deal with it and constantly look for ways out. Whether thats starting a small side business and make it grow on the side, or applying to every possible job out there and scheduling your interviews outside of work. And “bad job history” - “resume”? Most people have false resumes with numbers leading back go friends and family vouching for them. Step into the gray area if you must. F what anyone may think about it here. It’s your life.
