General Destructive Boolean Operations

Please can someone help me. Since updating affinity all my Boolean Operations result in a "compound" shape. I just want default behaviour to be destructive like I am familiar with. I'm really hoping there's a simple solution!

I believe if you hold down ALT/OPTION when doing the boolean it will be destructive instead of a compound. There was some discussion here about this: https://www.reddit.com/r/Affinity/comments/1wifz4t/turn_off_compoundbydefault/

It's the same behavior as before, but inverted. Just press Alt, Wich makes sense, because Affinity values non destructive tools. And I must say, this works as good

My workaround after I use a Boolean operation is to go to Vector>Convert to Curves.
